Bargain.
Also, being pedantic. Although smaller speakers do usually have less low frequency extension than larger speakers, that's not always the case, so the physical size of a speaker isn't the best...
Limp mass bass absorbers don't take up much room.

Sounds like the Aiyima A07 really Is a bargain. I don't need another amp, but even so, it's still tempting at the price.
At least with the ATC you should be able to sell them with little loss if you don't get on with them.
Well, there were three separate problems. The Ferrofluid drying out, the 4.7uf electrolytic cap measured 9uf, and there was a break in the 1R series tweeter resistor.
Yes, makes it confusing.
I bought my ex-girlfriend some Mission 731s years ago as part of a Richer Sounds bundle, but I can't remember what model they were. All I remember was how good they...
I read somewhere that the 731i was better than the 731LE that replaced it, but who knows. Even though the tweeter is not 100%, I much prefer them to the little Denons. Lower mids are much more open...
Not sure anyone cares, but I'll keep posting for my own records.
I put the tweeter back in and it's working, but it's a lot quieter than the other side. At first I wondered if it was the lack of...
A couple of pics of the tweeter:

Here's the impedance of the good tweeter:

Here's the bad tweeter:

And here's the faulty tweeter with the ferrofluid...
The speakers arrived early. They are a lot smaller than I expected - cute little things.
The sound isn't bad, but there is a little bit of brightness in the upper midrange. I haven't tested them on...
I'll report back, but it probably won't be until after Christmas due to postage delays...
For anyone who's interested, Missions version was the Model 70. It was a bit smaller, so I'd imagine it...
You'd think so, but apparently the Malaysian version is supposed to be a bit brighter and not quite as nice sounding.
The UK version with the grey front and suspected Audax tweeter. I'll...
They have different tweeters and a different crossover, so you'd expect some difference.
At some point I'll probably measure them and try to reverse engineer the crossover.
Old thread, I know.
I just bought a pair of Denon SC-M5K for my PC, and I found a video comparison here that says the UK version (grey front) is better built and sounds better. The tweeter...
I haven't directly compared mine to the 306 either. The Aiyima A07 has the TPA3255 chip that's supposed to be even better than the TPA3116. It's certainly capable of producing a lot more power.
Before I bought mine, I was searching this forum everywhere because I remember you recommended a cheap amp, and I had a feeling it might be a TPA3116 based one. It looks like I was right.
Am I...
With the cost of living crisis and me being tight, I've been watching YouTube reviews by the cheapaudioman. Curious to hear how you're getting on with the Geshelli J2? I'm also interested in your...
I don't like Jantzen z superior. They sound too smooth and soft to me.
It's 100% an age thing. Most people seem to get to a certain age and start to dislike modern music. Thankfully that hasn't happened to me yet... Although there is a lot of crap out there, I'd...
Waiting to see if I'm going to be banned from a forum for being a mysogynist. I don't believe I am, but perhaps I just can't see it?
You can buy tinsel wire on eBay. As long as there's enough to solder to where it joins the cone, I'd replace the other piece of wire that is soldered to the terminal.
It would be worth...
If you're anywhere near Cheltenham I could have a look. It's not something I've ever repaired before though...
