Well put it in another position that does work with your other half - anything is better than nothing.
My personal opinion is that streaming (unlike CD) still has a strong future. However, at present, it is very much the poor cousin and both CD and vinyl are very obviously better.
How do you mean you ‘don’t have room for speakers’? I had speakers when I lived in a bed-sit - are you living in a cupboard under the stairs?
It’s not really what you need to address the problem with your hearing that you described. The DSP solution would be better and, conveniently, vastly cheaper ;).
That’s the cheaper unit ML released that was a combo of pre-amp and tone equaliser. The top row of controls are the usual pre-amp ones like source select, volume etc. Only the bottom controls adjust...
Grey import and fake are not the same thing at all. By buying it from abroad, rather than from the UK distributor, it becomes a grey import but that doesn’t stop it being genuine. I would also add...
Ah, yes - I see that now (very extensive protection covering) - many thanks for the clarification :).
HiFi Collective sell dozens of brands of exotic capacitors.

Ansar make good capacitors but the Obligato ones you already have are...
So the customer already had white Alexia’s and changed them to metallic grey ones?
Or were the white ones loaned to them whilst the grey were on order?
(Odd that your Photobucket pics aren’t...
Yes, someone has definitely removed part of the power supply and this has certainly been done before it was shipped to you. I would put in a PayPal claim.
Yes, as above is the way to go in my opinion. You will be able to put in a sharp notch filter at the bothersome frequencies and the effect on the overall sound will be extremely difficult to hear...
I buy a lot of new releases, almost entirely mail order, and rarely have an issue of any kind.
On the other hand, you can make a record ‘look’ like new by giving it a spray with Mr Sheen furniture...
As someone mentioned earlier, the magazine ‘Stereophile’ do detailed and worthwhile measurements. In contrast, few manufacturers provide any speciations of real value.
Andrew, the specs you quote do mean absolutely nothing. The quoted frequency response needs to state the -3dB point and the impedance needs to have a plot against frequency response. So, in...
Ah, that actual metal piece is called the ‘pole piece’ (it’s actually plated steel) - the voicecoil is a very thin coil of wire on a thin tube that moves around the pole piece and is attached to the...
Which ‘rods’ are you referring to?
Yes, they have introduced a new way to monetarise the site and it seems to have broken their App.
If I try to access Photobucket using the iPhone, or iPad App it shows all my folders still but if...
Finally finish building my blooming turntable!
T is for slow blow. Anyway, if it’s a mains input fuse it will be slow blow or it would fail all the time.
Frankly, I would abandon the idea that you need micrometer adjustment to VTA because you don’t need it. I’m not saying VTA isn’t important but you just need an arm with height adjustment and take...
I don’t think there are any batteries in the Vista Audio phonostage.
Is that a bit of a Christmas flounce over the “Boris Big Win” thread? Another reason why (IMO) discussion of politics (and religion) should be banned...
Bit of a bargain this.
I’ve heard the Maxonic speakers a number of times in the, excellent, Brook Audio dem room. As all drivers are field coils designs I feel they may be more to my own taste with a bit of adjustment to...
