Vocoders, as has already been mentioned, Yodelling (not the delivery company although they seem as bad).
........ and those who can't be bothered to differentiate between "Them" and "Those".
Having a clear out. This excellent piece of kit needs no description from me, it's all on the 'net anyway. But essentially.......
Gain settings
Four gain settings are available for cartridges...
This got a bit weird, but I think it's sorted now.
Taking Lawrence's route first I swapped over the pre amp outputs and bingo - back in business! Fixed it I thought and swapped them back, but when...
Can't fault the logic Lawrence and worth a try, although I'm hopeful rather than confident.
I have enough leads around to confuse the phono amp no end so one of them may work if that's the issue....
My vinyl replay which runs Cartridge - Phono Pre Amp - Power Amp, has dropped it's LH channel. RH is fine.
If I swap the RH / LH phono leads over at the Phono Pre Amp input there's still no LH...
Instructional video, good pace, well explained.
I went on to watch his video on set up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr4Adsc0gFA
Best explanation of anti skate I've ever seen.
Thanks for...
Couldn't resist it! Just been looking through the range. How do they get away with it?
As well as Tannoy there are a lot of Bowers and Wilkins copy speakers (802 style) for $2000.
Accuphase...
Surprised? Yes, none more so than I. No detectable change, let alone anything obvious.
DAVE on it's own was sweet, and changed my perception of what could be had from a digital source. Good...
After I'd had DAVE for about 18 months I too bought an M Scaler, had it running alongside DAVE for about a year and thought "What am I hearing?".
Tried it over long periods both with and without...
Early memories of CD? Thin and Screechy, but we were told this was the future.
Sucker that I was, in 1986 I bought a Phillips "something", (CD650?). Cost me £600. Didn't have anything to play on...
i found out the hard way. Importing some automotive stuff I couldn't get over here.
I had one large parcel - £15 clearance by Royal Mail, then an email from the supplier saying they'd left...
And make sure your order gets shipped in one go or for every package you'll pay the clearance charge. Ouch!
Audiophile?
I just hate the bl**dy word, it's too close to another type of 'phile. Can we not think of something else to call it? :(
You've summed it up nicely - my experience was similar. Couldn't afford one as a £7 a week apprentice when they were current (late 60's / 70's) and wanted to record the BBC top 20 on a Sunday...
Good question OP.
The closest I got was to plug the line out from one of my Echo Dots into the back of my preamp.
The result was far from overwhelming but this was just Amazon Music, not HD.

I'd be more than happy to leave the faff of vinyl behind me - flipping the disc every 15/20 minutes is a major irritant.
But try as I may (and I really have tried!) I can't squeeze that last few...
Yes, I know, but:-
a) I don't need one
b) I don't want one
....and the question was "How much would you pay?"
So just as well really............ lol indeed. :)
1. Light Oak, satin or matt finish
2. £250
3. £150
Plinths can be all things to all men (and women). Someone has to get the ball rolling.
Roy, I note that you have no laptop, but do you have a desktop of any kind that you can use for ripping your CD's?
If so you need to add a UpNP/DNLA compliant Streamer (I think they all are now)...
Although my buying experience of new vinyl is largely positive I have had this with some examples of new stuff. Normally I'd send it back every time but occasionally it's borderline (replacement...
I know R2R's have enjoyed a bit of an uplift in value lately but this..........?
...
Exactly. I was just about to say someone's lying through their teeth in terms of description. And at that price too!! And it looks filthy dirty.
Seller has 26 negatives in the last 12...
I think I'll sit this one out. I can't even get on the same page let alone compete!
Sacha's collection goes beyond my imagination and it's all so clean and well photographed.
And Barry has...
"The black flat round thing is free fire and water" - Excellent choice! :) :)
