Might be having a small refreshment to celebrate cuffing Aberdeen.
Not a great night if you’re a Spurs fan.
Teams like Bayern, Barca and Real Madrid are capable of doing that to anyone when they hit top form. Spurs will bounce back, as we always did after worse CL humpings in the past from PSG and Barca.
Big games for Celtic and Rangers tomorrow night against Cluj and Young Boys respectively. Anything could happen in our game at Celtic Park, as I expect that one, once again, to be a topsy-turvy affair, but if Rangers can come back from Switzerland with a point or more, I'll be very impressed, as Young Boys are a top outfit.
They'll certainly be going over there full of confidence and in great form.
Marco.
yup, best not laughing too hard; it could be your team sometime is what i tell folk.
Rangers are away to young boys in Bern tonight. Kickoff soon.. Celtic play later v cluj who the played in the champions league qualifiers.
Just settling down to watch the Rangers game
Hopefully a couple of good results tonight for the two Scottish teams
appears to be very open. hope our defence holds.. they look to be a clever side
one up..the buffalo
Yeah well taken goal, but poor game so far lots of poor passing
Yup, great finish! Let's hope that Rangers can retain that scoreline or add to it in the second half. I think there'll defo be more goals.
Marco.
their strikers look dangerous. a big strong team
Yeah, bollox to their equaliser... I'm afraid that Tav's defensive frailties are exposed at this level. Still, if Rangers can hold on and get a point (or more), then it'll be a good result, as playing away from home in Europe is always a difficult task.
Interesting to see ex-Man Utd and Celtic 'dud' Saidy Janko playing for Young Boys... He was always a flying machine, and liked a physical battle, but ultimately lacked finesse and ability.
Marco.
Another error got what we deserved
Tight end. Their keeper made a good save and we had one knocked off for offside and lose it at death.
They beat juve last year so no shame.
Yeah, again by Tavernier...
Sorry guys, he's not a defender at European level. In that respect, he's ok in the SPL, and superb at free kicks and providing assists at the other end of the park, but defensively he switches off too often - and at this level you get punished. I also think that McGregor could've done better with the second goal, although he's saved Rangers on countless occasions in the past, so cannot be blamed.
However, at 1-1 Rangers were denied a stonewall penalty and Morelos could've scored a second, bar a superb save from their keeper. Anyway, it's not a disaster, as it leaves all the teams in the group level on 3 points, and shows now how important winning home games will be!
Anyway, over to Celtic now - and this match will NOT be easy either.
Marco.
Celts have home advantage so should win
At least u have a proper full back
2-0 win, and could've been much more, but for some unfortunate misses and great defending from Cluj!
What a difference having a proper defence makes in these games (compared to the makeshift pish we were forced to use the last time)!! If we could've played that team against Cluj in the CL qualifier, we wouldn't have gone out of the competition at that stage. Anyway, that's us now top of our group.
The upcoming double-header against Lazio I think will make or break our chances of qualifying. For me, we'll need a minimum of 3 points from those games to keep us in the hunt.
Ryan Christie was simply MAGNIFICENT tonight - both in terms of skill and endeavour, as he was winning the ball and influencing things all over the park. What a player he's turning into, which is great news for us and also the Scotland team.
Bolingoli was also superb, and really starting to show what he's about now, and Elyounoussi was immense, making and finishing the second goal almost all himself. You can see why Southampton paid £16m for him! Plus, Edouard is really starting to look every bit a £9m striker - indeed more like an utter bargain at that price. Sheer class!:)
Marco.
Well done Celtic, not a disaster for Rangers either.
Well done to Celtic
Cheers, guys! What also made my night was Kieran Tierney making 3 of Arsenal's 4 goals in their 4-0 win against Standard Liege, with superb crosses and assists from the left-hand side. That boy is potentially world-class. All he needs is more experience playing regularly at the top level, but he has all the necessary tools.
Mark my words: he will set the EPL on fire, and Arsenal are going places now with him and that 18-year old wonder kid, Martinelli!:trust:
Marco.
Yup good win as expected. If Lennon had played defenders last time you'd have won then too.
Oh well its maybe for best.
Top of group.. What's not to like.
Good news Tierney is playing again
bit of a strange day.. City lose 2-0 to Wolves, as do Celtic to Livingston. Gers 2 up and dominent so far ....Man U away to Newcastle and I fear will be playing for their manager's future...Currently sitting 12th, so really need to win
Well, we fucked it up today against Livingston, much as I suspected we might, as we clearly struggle to play well on plastic pitches! And I see Rangers (as expected) are taking advantage, being 2-0 up at half time against Hamilton..
Anyway, guys, enjoy being top of the table, going into the International break. Aside from the game at Ibrox, your league form has warranted it!
Marco.
heard you were poor today all over pitch. That big lad they have up front is a handful. gave out defence a pounding too.. not subtle but it can be effective.
so 5-0 it ended. wee Defoe with a hat trick... his goals to minutes is impressive...
Good result today, will try and catch the goals later

Some surprising results this weekend. Not least the Canaries getting thumped 1-5 by the Villa! Still early days for the leagues I guess.
Long way to go back in the season, lots of twists and turns to come

Scotland over in Russia tonight. I expect a defeat alas. The team looks poor even by our standards
Burkey, Snodders, and McGinn? Nah, I think we'll score and get a point! Pressure's kind of off now, as we're relying on the play-offs. so I think that might help.
Anyway, watching in now with a beer!
Marco.
Looks like I will be spared the Scotland game as the hospital wifi is not up to be the looks of things.
Nothing serious I hope, Robin?
Marco.
I had a surgical plate removed from my right shin, been there for 40 years after a football injury. They have also taken a chunk from left thigh to fill the gap and also a skin graft from right thigh. Will be in for a couple of weeks while the healing process takes place, hopefully out of bed tomorrow.
Wish you well, mate, for a speedy recovery:)
And I'm giving up on predicting Scotland scores! It was looking ok in the first half, but in the second....:rolleyes:
Marco.
Another masterclass from Clarke.
We are becoming a lau.... No, we are becoming an even bigger laughing stock than when bertie Bassett was in charge.. Lol
