I know we've had a few nice days but spring has barely sprung and it would only have been about 6 degrees outside when I was eating this and my heating was on...
Surely one doesn't switch to eating exclusively salad on the 20th March? ;)

Nope, not at all. But when it's warm(ish) and sunny, as it has been here for most of the week, my diet changes accordingly, and I seek lighter/fresher foods, with 'comfort foods', such as cottage pie, soups, stews, etc, being for the winter months.
It's just how I've always been, mate, and also a European thing (as is the desire to eat al fresco). We're all different:)
For sure though it gets much colder at night, which signifies that it's still only April, not June. However, my main meals are generally enjoyed at lunch time, with evening meals being mostly snacks, so the former are eaten outside when the temp is higher.

Different strokes Marco. I honestly don't feel the need to restrict/vary my diet based on the weather/season, I have whatever I fancy.
got food coming tomorrow so i wont have to pot noodle for a while again... they do in a storm tho.. i keep a stock of them lol
Lol, yes, but you're not getting the point. When the weather's warmer (facilitating outdoor eating) *I FANCY* different types of food!:eyebrows:
Therefore, I'm not restricting anything... Sitting eating a stew or a plate of hot soup, on a warm sunny day, for ME would simply not be desirable, so lighter foods appeal more. That's why pubs and restaurants have different menus for the summer and winter:)
I'm also someone who likes eating foods (particularly certain fruits and veg) when they're *in season*, and therefore at their freshest and tastiest. In that respect, having strawberries in April was somewhat of a departure from that, but they looked good in the deli where I bought them - and they were, although still not a patch on the ones available in the summer.
Anyway, that's just me, and how I eat (and also most Europeans) - feel free to do otherwise, lol!:D
