Del and I enjoyed a nice day in Liverpool, mainly shopping but also had a lovely walk down by the Royal Albert Dock, right down the waterfront to Pier head, and the weather was beautiful. We had a drink and a snack in one of the pubs (very busy), but as it was such a lovely evening we decided to come home and have our main meal (and dinner) back in our garden, in a rather more tranquil setting...
So this is pot-roasted pheasant breast, stuffed with fresh spinach/rosemary and wrapped in pancetta, in a morel, white wine and crème fraîche sauce, and sprinkled with fresh parsley:

...with a bouquetière of vegetables on the side (edamame and fine green beans/broccoli and buttered boiled new potatoes):

Small selection of cheeses with some celery sticks and crusty bread to finish...

Washed down with two nice bottles of vino:

TBH, Del's cooking is better than that found in most restaurants, and our 'wine cellar' is well-stocked lol, so the decision to eat at home in rather convivial surroundings [well away from the busyness of a city centre] was a good one, and we stayed out there, chatting and having a laugh, enjoying each other's company until dark...

very nice...That meal looks delicious...
Cheers, mate, It was great, and our first proper one of the year, al fresco. It was warm enough yesterday to stay outside until nearly 9pm, so we did. Just nice chilling and chatting with your partner and soul mate, whilst enjoying some great food and wine:)
Not enough married couples indulge in such an activity these days... They're either 'too busy' or not close enough!;)

A lovely thick tuna steak seared over charcoal on the bbq last weekend. Served with some mixed roasted peppers / veg and a sweet potato, lovely outdoor dining. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...317d54265b.jpg

Ooh, looks lovely, that pepperoni in particular looks good!
I could go a bit of that now...
was very good.. taste wise it was tops but the base was a tad hard for my lack of teeth lol.. might make a softer one next time.
pepperoni was from tesco... i gave it a minute on a plate in microwave then wiped up all the grease from it(there was a lot) . made it healthier and it browned better
