Looks a very decent lunch Marco. We are off too one of our favourite restaurants tomorrow for a long lazy lunch so I may post up some pics of the grub. It is a chain restaurant specialising in French classic cooking and your lunch today reminded of its style. I don't usually like the big manufactured chain restaurants which seem to have flourished in the UK but along with Wagamamas which I rate highly for its authentic and cheap no nonsense Japanese food this restaurant is worth seeking out.

I hope you enjoy your long, lazy lunch, which I'm sure you will, and please do take pics!! We rarely eat at chain restaurants (much preferring small, family-run places), as they're almost always very disappointing. but the place you're talking about sounds intriguing.

The only French chain restaurant I can think of that might compare, is somewhere we occasionally go to in Shrewsbury, called Bistro Jacques: http://www.bistrojacques-shrewsbury.com/

It's decent and pretty consistent!:cool:

Nice one... You should make a point then, Jim, of going into Tanners (in Wyle Cop) and stock up on wines for Christmas - they have a superb selection! I'll be intrigued to see which French chain restaurant you're talking about:)

As an alternative (non-French) restaurant, next time, if you don't know of it already, I'd highly recommend The Golden Cross: http://www.goldencrosshotel.co.uk/content/food.html

It's a small boutique hotel, with a superb (tastefully styled and cosy/intimate) restaurant, run by a husband and wife team, where only the best local produce is used, to create some mouth-watering dishes, combined with a well-thought out, reasonably priced wine list.
