Not sure what I'm having, but I reckon chips are on the horizon. I've got spuds that need using up. Hmm. Sausage, egg 'n chips maybe? :hmm:

Some of the scran we enjoyed today at Marco Towers... To start, Gravadlax of Salmon with trout and mango terrine, and mini-prawn cocktails in their shells, with dressed mixed salad leaves:

Followed by home-made spinach and ricotta tortellini with a toasted pine nut, fresh sage and butter [Beurre d'Isigny] sauce:

Main course was roast Gressingham goose (breast pieces shown), served with a rich red wine and port jus, pigs in blankets, celeriac mash, fresh spinach and Fontina cheese crumble, sprouts, red cabbage, green beans and rosemary and garlic roast potatoes:

And for pudding, home-made, traditional at Christmas, Italian Zuccotto (Panettone soaked in sweet vin santo wine with ricotta, chocolate and candied fruit), with some of the wines in the background we enjoyed, such as a superb Chateau Laffitte 2007:

Food this year was nowt special but the lad enjoyed it and that's what mattered. Was catered for him tbh was nice to see the family all happy.
