Thanks Marco, and yes, we’re in agreement, there’s too much topping however in defence it was stuff that was in the fridge and needed used up and it was our main meal of the day rather than a light bite. My wife is a believer in more is more when it comes to food. Also my 17yr old son eats pizza like a herd of wildebeest eat grass so none was wasted!
Sure, as I said it comes down to personal taste, but if you want to make an authentic Italian pizza, then it's really all about the base (thin and crispy, preferably made from scratch and cooked in a wood-fired oven), then a *little* cheese (MUST be mozzarella), and a decent but not OTT coverage of fresh, good quality toppings.
But if that's not the goal, then do what you like and enjoy!:D
Marco.
i like a lot of nice rich, slightly spicy tomato sauce topping on first, as it helps with moisture and keeps topping in place.. no mushrooms tho. sweet pepper is good too. chicken and sweet pepper/onion is a good un. quite like a nice hawaiian too:ner: not very italian i know, but hey ho.. having fewer teeth than god gave me a softer base too nowadays:D
fish n chips today.... pic to follow.. not sure about beans:D

8 ounce ribeye quite rare..1min 30secs per side on a screaming hot cast iron skillet. A single egg and a thin cut slice of my Chilli Cheese bread to mop up. Oh it was a Goose egg, huge and indulgent, the yolk was like cream. I was going to have those left over beans left of picture, but decided against it...this was simple but delicious..

I said I didn't want to be repetitive on this thread but my curries are never the same twice so here you go.
(Some left over veg curry and mixed pickle from last night's takeaway mixed with a little chicken curry from the freezer + rice done in rice cooker)

Del and I enjoyed a nice day in Liverpool, mainly shopping but also had a lovely walk down by the Royal Albert Dock, right down the waterfront to Pier head, and the weather was beautiful. We had a drink and a snack in one of the pubs (very busy), but as it was such a lovely evening we decided to come home and have our main meal (and dinner) back in our garden, in a rather more tranquil setting...
So this is pot-roasted pheasant breast, stuffed with fresh spinach/rosemary and wrapped in pancetta, in a morel, white wine and crème fraîche sauce, and sprinkled with fresh parsley:

...with a bouquetière of vegetables on the side (edamame and fine green beans/broccoli and buttered boiled new potatoes):

Small selection of cheeses with some celery sticks and crusty bread to finish...

TBH, Del's cooking is better than that found in most restaurants, and our 'wine cellar' is well-stocked lol, so the decision to eat at home in rather convivial surroundings [well away from the busyness of a city centre] was a good one, and we stayed out there, chatting and having a laugh, enjoying each other's company until dark...
Marco.
very nice...That meal looks delicious...
Cheers, mate, It was great, and our first proper one of the year, al fresco. It was warm enough yesterday to stay outside until nearly 9pm, so we did. Just nice chilling and chatting with your partner and soul mate, whilst enjoying some great food and wine:)
Not enough married couples indulge in such an activity these days... They're either 'too busy' or not close enough!;)

A lovely thick tuna steak seared over charcoal on the bbq last weekend. Served with some mixed roasted peppers / veg and a sweet potato, lovely outdoor dining. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...317d54265b.jpg

Ooh, looks lovely, that pepperoni in particular looks good!
I could go a bit of that now...
was very good.. taste wise it was tops but the base was a tad hard for my lack of teeth lol.. might make a softer one next time.
pepperoni was from tesco... i gave it a minute on a plate in microwave then wiped up all the grease from it(there was a lot) . made it healthier and it browned better

Simple light lunch today, enjoyed al fresco in the warm Wrexham sunshine... Salad de Tomates, using vine tomatoes (with a classic vinaigrette), topped with fresh basil leaves/chopped shallots. and enjoyed with some crusty bread:

Then some fresh strawberries and ice-cream, with strawberry sauce:

Yum!:)

Nope, not at all. But when it's warm(ish) and sunny, as it has been here for most of the week, my diet changes accordingly, and I seek lighter/fresher foods, with 'comfort foods', such as cottage pie, soups, stews, etc, being for the winter months.
It's just how I've always been, mate, and also a European thing (as is the desire to eat al fresco). We're all different:)
For sure though it gets much colder at night, which signifies that it's still only April, not June. However, my main meals are generally enjoyed at lunch time, with evening meals being mostly snacks, so the former are eaten outside when the temp is higher.
Marco.
Went to a lot of trouble with this.. [emoji23]

Different strokes Marco. I honestly don't feel the need to restrict/vary my diet based on the weather/season, I have whatever I fancy.
got food coming tomorrow so i wont have to pot noodle for a while again... they do in a storm tho.. i keep a stock of them lol
Lol, yes, but you're not getting the point. When the weather's warmer (facilitating outdoor eating) *I FANCY* different types of food!:eyebrows:
Therefore, I'm not restricting anything... Sitting eating a stew or a plate of hot soup, on a warm sunny day, for ME would simply not be desirable, so lighter foods appeal more. That's why pubs and restaurants have different menus for the summer and winter:)
I'm also someone who likes eating foods (particularly certain fruits and veg) when they're *in season*, and therefore at their freshest and tastiest. In that respect, having strawberries in April was somewhat of a departure from that, but they looked good in the deli where I bought them - and they were, although still not a patch on the ones available in the summer.
Anyway, that's just me, and how I eat (and also most Europeans) - feel free to do otherwise, lol!:D
