Unfortunately the earlier snow we had didn't lie.... :(
Anyway, hope you got some nice munchies delivered! :)

Just emergency stuff. Nothing extra nice just it will keep me going. Getting some ice m snow away gives me a chance for Monday if it goes milder to get out
I usually make French onion soup, but I tried the original, which is an old Tuscan recipe. The key is a heavy pan and a half hour sauté of the red onions, very low, no browning!

IMO this is better than the French version.
Nothing like a comforting hot bowl of soup on a cold winter's day, so your French onion soup sounds great! A wee tip when you're doing the French version, add a dash of dry sherry to the pan for extra richness and flavour! ;)
Oh, and proper French onion soup should always be served with nice cheesy croutons....
Can't be arsed cooking today, so we're going out for Sunday lunch to our favourite local restaurant: http://thefatboarwrecsam.co.uk/
Looking forward to it!

Yum, lentil and bacon, pea and ham and proper onion soup are my three faves.
Excellent stuff, Granty... The bread rolls in particular look phenomenal, as good as bought ones (which is often hard to do with home-made), but no doubt taste WAY better! Enjoy [which I'm sure you did]
