It all looks fab! That sort of starter is right up my alley and years ago we found a backstreet Italian deli/restaurant in London that did the some of the most amazing antipasti we’ve ever had - and I include the stuff we’ve had in Italy amongst that!.Quote:

Some of the Polish stuff is ok, but not the same. No, that lot pictured was all from Lidi (from their French week), and surprisingly good quality, aside from Del's homemade salads, which were actually the tastiest things of all!:ner:
Oh, and crudités are massively popular in France, and so form the basis of their salads, and which are always coated in a delicious vinaigrette! It's not like the boring, bland shite, posing as 'salads', served here in the UK...
But I know you don't 'do veg' (or salads). However, in order to be healthy and enjoy a balanced diet, I eat plenty of it and love it (done well):)

Actually, although I like teasing you I love veg of all sorts (parsnips excepted, obviously, as they are the work of Satan) and I love carrots in particular, just not raw. If god had meant us to eat raw veg, he wouldn’t have invented the steamer! :)Quote:

That's reminded me I have parsnips to use up. I think I'll have them roasted with chicken pie and mushy peas tonight. A bit of gravy on top won't hurt either.

How anyone can think that dry lettuce leaves (of questionable quality, as is the case in the majority of occasions) are edible (or palatable), even with a couple of non-descript (often largely tasteless) slices of tomatoes and cucumber chucked in, and that that somehow qualifies as a 'salad', is utterly beyond my comprehension!:D
