OK, What's For Lunch or Tea Today?

Nice, Alex... However, are you ever NOT in too much of hurry to cook?;)

As I understand it, you're retired, so should have plenty of time to indulge in concocting all sorts of lovely food.... I'd really like to see you make something traditionally Polish, like some nice meat in a sauce, tasty soup, or some such.

Any chance of that? I'm asking, because if I like how it looks, I might want the recipe!:)

I often wonder how I managed to find the time for work.

These days, my neighbours and friends find plenty for me to do.

I don't really know much Polish food. Born in London I was!

I buy Polish mayonnaise and mustard. They are very good, better than any British make I can think of.

I had prawn salad lunchtime. No photo though. :)

Funny thing, I never really got on with mayonnaise, makes me think of Castrol Lithium grease! I don't mind Salad Cream, used it in the rice salad.

Most mustards I like.

Fraid I can't eat prawns, like prawn cocktail crisps tho!

No worries... I just thought (was it your father who was Polish?) he might have done some cooking at home, and/or influenced the food you ate, in some way, when you were a kid:)

Dad came here from Poland as a teenager before WW2, He became a brilliant Engineer and Architect, but a couldn't really cook an egg. Apparently, at University (Durham) he survived on baked beans on toast!

I should really look in to Polish food more, but the little of it I have had, I was not that keen.

Ah, gotcha. Shame, as I'm getting into Polish food, being as there are now about four Polish supermarkets in Wrexham! So I'd like to have learned more about it from a 'native', as it were:)

Thanks, he was, I'm afraid that I can't live up to his achievements, Major in the Royal Engineers, was sent out to Burma during the war. He got a decoration for bravery, not quite as one might expect, not fighting, but going out in the Monsoon and saving peoples lives.
