Tell me about it. I adore Italian cuisine but the best that they seem to be able to manage with potatoes is making them into gnocchi...

It's enjoyed with roast meats in every Italian household, and is delicious! :)

Yup, they have to be hard. My preferred 'croutons' are simply seasoned chunks of (almost stale) bread, infused with dried herbs and deep-fried :)

Yes these were ones for Caesar salad. Like bricks but the thick tomato soup softens them enough for my old mouth to eat.
Lol - I thought you were used to sookin' on summat hard?:eyebrows::D;)
Marco.
Not me. I like a big soft juicy lucy
A flopsy bendy one?:D

My, that does look appetizing, I’ve always been a meat and potatoes man.
I take great care in the way I stack my toppings on the pizza. And the red stuff is just canned, diced tomatoes, drained. I put the onions under the cheese, so they cook down soft and don’t get burnt, and the green peppers on top for looks. Lately I just brown ground beef and spread on top. The most important part, is a clove or garlic about the size of your thumb, minced into the sauce. And yes, it’s an Americanized pizza. An Italian friend of mine always ordered a,”Cheese Pie”, he frowns upon all the toppings.
One thing I see is portion size. Everyone in America eats too much! The meals most of you display is about half the size of what I see here in the states. And that’s why Americans are so fat! I’m a good 15lbs overweight myself.
