Nice one. When you use them, just make sure that the bit that goes into the neck of the bottle is firmly seated (pushed as far down as it'll go), before you being pumping the air out, and in that respect, keep going until there is NO air left.
You'll know that when it becomes really stiff to pump!:eyebrows:

Ah, we rarely buy wine with screw tops, sorry. However, wines with screw tops are usually sealed much better from air, than corks (once opened), so in my experience don't benefit to the same degree from pumping.Quote:

One of the few things I can't eat on its own. Fine though, in pâté, when combined with other much nicer ingredients, which dilute the taste of the liver! Although, TBH, I don't really 'do' any type of offal.

No wine stopper or pump will allow the wine to 'hang around for a few days'. The most you can keep an opened wine bottle for will be three days maximum.
I use a Le Creuset wine pump and make sure the rest of the wine is drunk the following day.
