Lol... No bloody red or brown sauce should be necessary on that type of food, if it's got plenty of flavour to start with (which I'm sure it had);)
The only thing I put ketchup or brown sauce on (depending on my mood) is chips!
Marco [cringes sometimes at the crassness of the British palate]:ner::eyebrows:
Oh good grief, Marco. The only thing you should ever put on chips is salt and vinegar. Tomato or brown sauce is for bacon sarnies!
Honestly, these non-Britishers with their incorrect notions about food accompaniments... ;)
Hahaha... At a push, I may put brown sauce on bacon sarnies, *if* the bacon is of the cheap variety and a bit tasteless, such as you often get in snack vans, 'greasy spoons', etc. And yes, chips too, if they're the frozen type, to 'cheer' things up a bit. Not proper chips.
My point being, however, that ketchup or brown sauce should be reserved for putting on 'junk food';)
Marco.
Small piece of belly pork marinated in fennel seeds, black pepper, thyme, garlic and extra virgin olive oil. Just squeezed a load of lemon juice on it.
On its way now just dropped the temp low for a long cook... to raise again later.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f0fb2cb252.jpg
Nice... What you gonna serve with it? I'd go for some cold (steamed) fine green beans, marinated in chilli oil and sprinkled with some toasted sesame seeds, or perhaps some Teriyaki noodles:)
Marco.
Been busy fitting new front and back door locks that conform to BS3621 2007, for insurance compliance.
So a quick lunch, Lidl baked beans with a pinch of chilli flakes, on toast. Was quite nice
Caribbean chicken

I'd just stick it between 2 slices of bread with lots of HP sauce. And a nice mug of tea to go with it. :)
When my sometimes poor diet choices put me in an early grave, you can all say 'well we warned him about his shit diet' and I won't care because I'll be dead.
Ste [proud to be crass!]
Actually I might just go really lazy...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1634742eac.jpg
As it was another gloriously sunny day today in Wrexham, we dined 'al fresco'... This is one of Del's 'signature dishes', pan-fried veal breast stuffed with fresh asparagus, Parma ham and Bel Paese cheese, served with a fresh Marsala wine sauce:

And served up with some herby croquette potatoes and veg:

It was scrummy, especially with the asparagus now being in season!
Marco.
I always mix some HP sauce into my baked beans. Then I can always distinguish my farts from hers.
No cooking today - we're having Chinese takeaway. I don't even like Chinese. I'll just have 'special' curry, where they throw everything in it. I don't know what Mrs. Pony's choice is called, but I think it smells a bit like dog muck.
Bet that was yum !!
My Mrs did a lovely signature Caribbean rice and peas, with fried plantain on the side and another lovely green leaf salad with shredded beatroot strips and a dollop of coleslaw, washed down with Barefoot Merlot Californian Red
- All very scrumptious.
She's now having an 1hrs lay down in bed while I indulge some more system music vinyl joy - yay !! Been a fab summers weekend oh! and a day off from work tomorrow too - Yippee doo !! :yay: :D
There's a marked difference between in it (say, as part of the sauce), and poured ON TOP of food, in its 'raw state'.... Honestly, it's a waste of your good cooking!
If you did that to the meal of an Italian or Frenchman, they'd crown you with the sauce bottle - either that, or it would be used as a rather novel suppository!!:D:trust:
Marco.
Mayo? Aw gawd, no - that's even worse!:D S'ok, my dad's chippies few full of daftees like you, buying fish and chip butties, and Iru Bru in their droves, who all helped build up my inheritance fund!;)
I guess the difference is, we make our own sauces (full of proper healthy ingredients, such as the Marsala wine one I showed earlier) to accompany meat dishes, and not simply blob on a load of ketchup.....
Marco.
Now *that* I like the sound of Rob, especially as no doubt it would be authentic! :respect:
Quality... Although do you not relax and listen to music together? Del and I do that all the time. Enjoy your day off tomorrow. I've got one, too:eyebrows:Quote:

Marco.
of course...
He he !! Cant beat a day ( or many ) off :D
Good question Marco, she appreciates a good tune but not as obsessed with music like I am. It has always been a part of my life and a vital part of who I am, I just love music, hence hifi intrinsically being a passion as part of and out of that.
We are very close as we started out as friends when we were in our older teens and then became an item long after we'd built a close friendship, at the same time though we are quite individual too.
I'd love her to sit with me sometimes and get into it but it doesnt quite hit her the way it does me so she indulges in the little things she likes within the home, in between being a Mum and so on and I get into the tunes / system and AOS amongst other things whilst I'm not busying around the house and being a Dad :)
I love that you and Dell do that though, it's great and I can tell you appreciate it too, excellent !
Ended up doing some chunky chicken drumsticks with buttery parsnip mash, sugar snap peas and gravy. Yum!!

Like it...

The pic looks fine mate, but hence why I don't use Tapatalk bollocks;)
Marco.
Cheers, Tony. Veal is eaten more often in Tuscany than chicken, and btw the stuff I had today is British rosé veal, see here: https://alternativemeats.co.uk/catal...e-veal/id/182/ from our local butcher, not the milky-pale stuff, which has been cruelly produced.
We get chops, escalopes and joints of veal and keep it in the freezer. The butcher's even managed to get hold of some goat for us, which again is widely eaten in Tuscany. So next Sunday's lunch will be goat stew in red wine, mushrooms and herbs, served with polenta - a Tuscan classic!

Yesterday's remains converted to a Mexican

Glad to see you don't waste anything. We hardly throw any food out:)

Remains of this belly pork cold.
The marinade on the underside of what you see here tasted beyond finest deli after a couple of days in the fridge. There was much more of it than you see on the side here.
Warm it was only pretty good.
Truly stunning and genuinely surprised.
White Corn Tortillas stuffed with last night’s Paella, Guacamole, Padron Peppers and Lemon Garlic Mayo (not on plate).
*a bit of chopped tomato, Valentina Hot Sauce and Cheese on top of the tortillas too.
Went down a treat! [emoji4]

Dont seem to have any issues about peppers...tomato juice is another thing
From the Father's Day thread, today's lunch...
Spinach and ricotta crespelle (essentially Italian savoury crêpes) with a fresh tomato and basil sauce:Quote:
