Ha - is that your stew with Donny R's mash?:)
Looks great and really tasty! Did I pique your interest when I said earlier about having your stew with some mash and peas?:D
Marco.
yup russells creamy mash, which is just too sloppy for my liking so i add a little powder to it which works well without altering flavour.. stew was theirs too although i cooked it up in herbs etc.. veg was a steam bag of frozen birdeye(peas, carrots, green beans) with butter and seasoning added by me
Nice one, mate. It all looked great. I could've happily ate it all:)
Marco.
Had this lasagne today for lunch (from Lidl), which is by far and away the best I've had from a supermarket - much better even than Binghams:

Lovely thick, properly layered sheets of egg pasta in a rich, tasty, meaty sauce - yum!
Marco.
Never seen Lidl deluxe before, they must be encroaching on the supermarket's premium ranges at the same time as the supermarkets are introducing more pseudo branded value items to compete with Lidl and Also.

No. 2 son and partner are visiting tomorrow so have been cooking a few bits and bobs for tomorrow.
Just having nibbles tonight so thought I’d do a Chorizo Tortilla to have with some anchovy stuffed olives and a glass of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Looks great. How many eggs in that ?
Hi Lawrence,
Yeah, I've been banging on about it here for ages! Pretty much anything from their Deluxe range is good quality [for a 'ready meal'), and in some cases, such as with the lasagne in question, exceptional. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it, but it would be interesting to compare the quality against similar offerings from Waitrose or M&S.
I'm pretty sure that both would be significantly more expensive and not necessarily better! Certainly off the top of my head, as I've had 'top of the range' lasagne from all the major supermarkets, and I can't recall any being as good as this one from Lidl - and that's from an Italian who knows what constitutes as proper (authentic) lasagne!
Therefore, if you like lasagne, next time you're in Lidl, buy it with confidence. IMO, it's much tastier than the (already good and popular) version from Binghams:)
Granty, it would be interesting to see how it compares with the one you get from Donald Russell:cool:
Marco.
Top-notch baking as usual there, Tony - and the tortilla doesn't look too shabby either!:D
Do you like frittata? Del's doing one over the weekend or on Monday:)
Marco.
