I think Grant thought you were taking the piss about the Scots liking everything fried (Mars Bars, etc, hence pea fritters), which is a bit of a myth, as the English are just as bad!:D

I like hake, really tasty, meaty fish. Good Indian restaurants make tandoori fish, served sizzling with spicy veg.
Lol - each to his or her own! I've never had a pea fritter, but I like peas, so I guess the concept has possible merit. I'm not a big fried food person in general though, so fritters, chips, etc. are rarely on my radar..
