Yeah, I also probably prefer a compote, and just a bit more texture to the sauce (as all the fruit bits and seeds were sieved out), but the resulting liquid was really tasty and very fruity! The main point I wanted to highlight in the picture though, was how I think ice-cream [any flavour of such] should look!
You didn't reply to my question of if you remembered the superior product served in ice-cream vans before the invention of 'Mr Whippy', or what you thought of the latter in comparison?:)
