New potatoes and veg for tea, with a couple of lamb steaks taken from the local pub, which the chef couldn't be arsed with.
 No, Mrs. Pony helps in the kitchen sometimes, and these were surplus to requirements.
I had a couple of reservations:
1.Was it a case of my belly or the bin? Were they not good enough for paying customers?
2. I gave a bit to the cat who just sniffed at it then looked at me as if to say "are you trying to poison me?" before walking of in a sulk. And she'll happily spend an afternoon licking her own arse.
Anyway, 15 hours later no apparent ill effects. Just the usual first thing dump which is more to do with gravity when getting out of bed and standing.
And no sheep reported missing in the nearby field.
I sometimes wondered (like you do) how farmers can keep tabs on all their sheep. Turns out they count the legs and divide by four. Clever stuff. In fact the farmer can be considered to be a man outstanding in his field.
Polpette (meatballs) on the go at the moment.
Used what ingredients I had to hand. 50/50 beef/pork mince, grana padano cheese, ciabatta soaked in milk, garlic, salt, pepper and finally eggs to bind.
Rolled in flour then browned (sort of) in Olive Oil then plonked into a simple tomato sauce (good olive oil, grated sweet white onion, tomato, Basil, salt and a bit of sugar).
Have put a batch in the freezer and will have these with pasta later.
