A serious breadhead! [emoji4] I know what you mean. I dabbled in it to a lesser extent a long while back, used to bake bread every day for the family.

Sourdough has always been my favourite ever since being introduced to the good stuff when I was living in the Bay Area many years back.

I used to make sourdough a lot, but became a little allergic to them for some reason. Tasty tho. a steep learning curve too

I think the cultures can go a bit off. So unlike many if I do it I don't keep the culture long. You can get a bad stomach from them I think.

Gonna try freezing my next culture in blobs.

yup, its a possibility. either way i avoid em now and stick with wholemeal or similar... hovis best of both is not bad for a half white, but its usually a full wholemeal and seeds. good for the old bowel lol

coz it has lactic acid in it from culture and tastes a bit sour.:D

I worked with someone years ago from Glasgow who used to make a really tasty thing with the square sausage, potatoes and loads of white pepper, I think she called it Stovies. Bloody lovely.
