Well, it'd be rude not to!:D
Nice glass.... Honestly mate, it's good to see you enjoying yourself:)
Marco.
They're nice, I like them.
Marco.
While we are on that kind of thing. I noticed people drinking out of what looks to me like Jam Jars! Whats that all about?
Must be a Yorkshire thing:D
Haven't seen anything like that round here...
Marco.
Suppose these are jam jar ish now u mention it. They are an Italian take on the old fashioned cocktail glass, and fairly similar to the early 19th c glasses. Old fashioned was the first ever cocktail and its still very good

Worth laying down for a couple of years.
2018 Chateau du Plantier, Bordeaux
https://www.thewineilove.com/media/c...dca291e7f.jpeg
CEPAGE : 49 % Merlot - 7% Cabernet Franc - 44% Cabernet Sauvignon. ROBE : Belle robe rouge rubis. BOUCHE : La bouche est ronde et bien équilibrée. NEZ : Le nez est agréable, sur les fruits frais.
13.5% ABV. Difficult to quote a price, as this was a gift from a visitor from Switzerland, but in the region of €8 -10 a bottle. Cheaper in France where it is only about €4 a bottle.(!)
Can't tell you how this wine tastes as my partner drank it, but she thought it pleasant enough.
one of the nicest bourbons that are not silly priced. eagle rare 10...

Early birthday present and I'm having some early. Lolhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fc7edd25d4.jpg
it is.. its from the Buffalo Trace distillery.. buffalo trace itself is very good too, but a little younger.. similar mashbill although not quite same; barrel placement is a lot to do with good bourbon due to weather in kentucky. Young ones can pick up flavours from wood quickly due to the heat etc producing more movement into and out of the wood. where in scotland it happens much more slowly
yup they make pappy too
An old fashioned tonight..
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...787925c3d5.jpg
Made with Eagle rare, bitters, brown sugar cube crushed and ice with cucumber tonic water and orange rind.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...647e50231c.jpg
rather nice with the cucumber tonic .. you could use seltzer as well, although originally it would be club soda... ginger ale too can be used.
i might add eagle isnt the best bourbon to use tbh, but that was what was open. its a bit full bodied. think i will try a rye one next time as ive never had a rye old f
Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace on offer in Tesco just now
Got a bottle under my shelf actually. Lol. Got a bottle of trace too lol. A bottle of Few bourbon too which ive yet to try but told its great.
Who says romance is dead? :)
Bit early to try, will report back later!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2e735d87ab.jpg

Strong, but absolutely gorgeous!

Marco.
8% ! One bottle would be the equivalent of two pints of ale for me.
But the Belgians do make some lovely bottled beer. :)
Yeah, a nice one to sit and savour... I don't drink much beer; it's always quality over quantity:)
Marco.
If you enjoy quality (proper beer) it's a lovely one. Got it before Christmas in a mixed case in Lidl, Got a few more to try:)
Marco.
Decided to open the Arran 10.
Rather nice. Not too complex and has a little burn at end which is controlled with a teaspoon of water. Fruit and Heather for me.
Think I will have another..:eyebrows:

its a nice craft bottle and label with a wooden stopper so stylish too. not bad for money. Think it retails around £38 from memory but I paid a bit less, buying when I did.
Its deffo a nice little dram you can sup at happily all evening if you wished. Nice and light
As an accompaniment to tonight's meal (picture at https://theartofsound.net/forum/show...-Today/page767), we enjoyed this:
2018 Maison Gillard Dole des Monts, Valais, Switzerland
https://www.wine-searcher.com/images...9/10575429.jpg
Awarded a Gold Diploma, 'Expovina' Internationale Weinpramierung, Zurich 2019
25% Gamay and 75% Pinot Noir grape. 13.5% ABV About £13 a bottle.
This is only the second bottle of Swiss wine I've tasted, and unlike the first reported here, I really enjoyed this one.
Nice earthy nose, the taste starts as tart cherry finishing towards almond.
The blurb on the bottle states:
Nose: red fruits, strawberry, raspberry and cherry
Taste: fruity start, silky soft tannin, beautifully rounded
Can be drunk with red and white meats, charcuterie and cheese.
A Tamnavulin tonight.. Been a busy day

Birthday pressie..
Wolfburn Langskip.
The wolfburn distillery was rebuilt after closing and becoming a ruin about 150years ago. When open tho it was the biggest distillery in area.
I'm guessing this is 5 Yr old as that's how long they have been making it.
I thought it right to lend sd one support. This is cask strength so being new too will need Liberal watering lolhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c762e5e308.jpg
Just back from our usual weekly jaunt up to the Highlands...
Treated myself to an 18 year old bottle of Glenrothes for lifting 2 more of the Scottish Manhood stones... And because I fancied a lovely sherried dram for a change to my usual peaty drops ;)

Picked up this bottle of wine in Tesco. No idea if it's good but I loved the name.
It's from Leasingham https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...caeb36fb9a.jpg
That should be good, mate... Nice and 'chunky', and yes, probably quite 'jammy', too!:D
Btw, we were in Chester today and saw a rather interesting, pretty unique place, part of which would be right up your street:

Not just cigars, but whisky (and whiskey) tasting! What a cool idea though, for cigar smokers in particular, savouring a nice Havana, along with a quality Malt!
Marco.
It's really good Marco ;)
Went in last year whilst we were at a family camp-along in the Delamere Forest  Train ride in (I'd forgotten to take any whisky with me, just had bourbon); my brothers a cigar fan and we couldn't help ourselves haha
Whisky has the usual 'tourist', premium added to it; but a few bottles there that were only c£5 more expensive than normal; think I came away with 2 bottles :D
Deffo worth a visit
interesting place. was a time i would have enjoyed it:lol:
I can imagine, especially if it included 'waitress service':eyebrows:
Noted, Danny-boy. Will check it out next time I'm in. Chester is only 20 mins in the car from here:)
Marco.
not been feeling great so hit it with some bourbon and then rye. hoping i fall asleep and see how i feel later
Yeah, hope it's just a passing phase, mate. Don't overdo the whisky, though...
Marco.
Ive a pretty good collection now so no more til I get some money in the funeral account :D
