The Wine & Whisky Thread

All these bloody whisky drinkers... Where are all the wine-os?:D

Anyway, popped into Waitrose the other day to get some of their advertised Nocciolato Panettone, as I wanted to try it and compare it with the plain version. This is the Nocciolato: https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/produc...-705250-705251

Goes great with some muscat-based pudding wine, such as Vin Santo!:)

Anyway, while I was there I swung by the wine department and picked up a couple of nice red Burgundies, firstly a 2017 Chorley-Les-Beaune, at a pretty reasonable £17.49, which they could've easily charged another tenner for: https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/produc...-134723-134724

And a 2018 Louis Latour Bourgogne Pinot Noir, for a stonkingly cheap £11.59, which could've easily been nearer £20: https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/produc...15-96931-96932

I'll probably lay them down for another 5 years or so, just to allow their fruity flavours to ripen and mature!:cheers:

Indeed, I was surprised too, but in the ‘whiskey world’ the Japanese stuff is where it’s ‘at’.

I've a bottle of nikki in my collection somewhere. Only 50cl I think, but, yes very good

Love Japanese whisky - Hibiki Japanese Harmony is wonderful stuff and also Yamazaki Single Malt was very good ...
