The cask strength tastes like the 12 but everything is amplified, It has legs like the 15 , last night to my tastes the 15 was better than the 12 , I was getting a fruitcake , shortbread cookie and cinnamon with butter scotch on the back.
I was enjoying them to much but last night the 15 really opened up and was the bell of the ball.
I started with no water but added 1/2 teaspoon and that both smoothed things out and took away the bite but left the Dublin hug..
The pool is not mine belongs to my friend Brad in one of the pictures. I wish I could send a small video of his back yard it is crazy cool after dark, the lights ,fire and water features are not to be believed.
His pool has a remote control !

The Glenrothes https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a76dd2a578.jpg
This is completely matured in first-fill sherry seasoned casks.. nose is astounding... boy that sherry hits you between the eyes
its spices, fruity but also dry-ish too.. quality wood this and a teaspoon of water opens it up and tames it slightly as its 48.8%abv... orange is strong to, and a bit of cream too... good mouthfeel too.
i think i like this even if its a nas..:eyebrows:
perhaps 2 teaspoons

The other new one today will be the Redbreast 15. You got me taste buds going..
Nose gives an extra to the 12 of wax polish. Maybe Mangos too..
Good mouthfeel with a little banana and maybe caramel or butterscotch. A bit drier finish, a bit grapefruity. This is with a teaspoon of water. A second splash evens out the drier, sourer notes a bit.
It's got a kick for 46% no doubt.. Typical pot still.. I might end up liking this too https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...21c39a5010.jpg
yeah some sawn wood too..
quite sophisitcated once tamed

At the risk of lowering the standard, I'm enjoying a slug or two of Spey Cascade 'The Singleton'. According to the blurb a "Single Malt Scotch Whisky of Dufftown", Banffshire.

https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskie...ascade-whisky/
40% ABV £32 a bottle (70ml).
Not too bad: caramel and toffee notes, but a short finish. But I mustn't be too critical, it would be churlish as I was given the bottle. Certainly a lot better than some of the reviews offered.

Singleton whiskies I've tried have been quite decent. Usually need a little water but good for money.

Drop of Grouse for me, cheers

Been tidying up the whisky bottles that are open. Was becoming difficult to view lol [emoji23].

I just picked up this 10 year bourbon , I think you have one open Grant. You have such an amazing collection.
I have heard good things about Eagle Rare. Anything by Buffalo Trace is always good.
