Tomatin Cask Strength. Another good value dram from Highland distiller, Tomatin. Quite strong and is better with a splash.

My boss has asked me to recommend him a smoky/peaty whisky for aorunf €80 for his son-in-law.
One of his favourites is Longrow Peated.
Any suggestions of something suitable?
taliskar 18 maybe...gets a good name
I was originally thinking along the lines of:
Ardbeg Uigeadail
Caol Ila 18
Highland Park 18
AnCnoc Peatheart
Benriach the smoky twelve
Tomintoul 15
I will add Talisker to the list.
Caol Ila James Eadie Palo Cortado might be a candidate too.. eadie do little wrong in my book
Just a heads up, chaps and chapettes, for anyone who may be interested in some bargain (quality) vino, available now in Lidl... I bagged these today:

Think of it as a 'poor man's' Brunello di Montalcino: rich, full-bodied and gorgeously fruity - a veritable 'super Tuscan', at a veritable non-super Tuscan price!

Potentially as good as some Barolos, from the same region. Usually DOC wines of this quality from Piedmont cost double that amount or more!

As described, a wonderful white wine, especially if you value subtlety and finesse, as much as flavour, over often exaggerated overly-oaked new world whites (count me in), and which pairs beautifully with seafood.

Unusual to see this in the UK, and 'does what it says on the tin', at a great price. A more interesting choice, with greater depth and complexity, than your average, rather boring Pinot Grigio.
Ditto this (even more so):
https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/the-spri...toscana/p40970
A beautifully refreshing slurp that's rewarding enough to be enjoyed on its own on a hot summer's day!
And if you fancy going a little 'off piste', this is a stunner:

Hungarian wines are often vastly underrated, and the Tokaji grape (done well, as in this instance) makes some of the best wines in the world, and so fully deserves its 'outstanding' status!
So, folks.... Run along to your nearest Lidl and grab these stonkers while stocks last!!
Robin, are you listening?;)
Marco.
Friday dram.
Great King Street, Artists Blend. By Compass Box.
Nice whisky this.
