Last of the wonderful Fasque.
Pity they don't make this now. I've been stretching this for close to a year.
I do have a 16yr old of theirs that should be better, and has a great bottle too.
Not sure when I will open it tho as I've plenty sherried ones open https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f58af065b6.jpg
I could be wrong, but it seems.
Non age statment scotch is the direction most distillerys are moving in. Even some of there more expensive bottles are blended with older whiskeys barrels mixed in with more youthful
Barrels? Grant , you are closer to the source of the water of life than I, is my observation correct?
i think there are more quality ones about that there were, but alas there are quite a few nasties in there charging serious money too, and giving the idea of nas and the industry in general, a bad name.
if you look at glenfarclas 105, as an instance, there are quite a few older whiskies in there as well as young and vibrant stuff.
wolfburn whisky is all young but is very well made. age isnt everything,.. always..ive tasted plenty really shit old whiskies tbh. if you cant sample then best next is to do your homework; but always read between the lines too. reviews by so called experts are often paid for by some manner, plus there are some reviewes who just dont like some styles etc.
This is not your classic Crown Royal.

Mint ,vanilla more mint and lots of spices.
It goes down so easy for a Rye whiskey.
