3 bottles arrived today. Top up the drinking bottle list.
2 Berry bros
A spey side and another sherry, plus a dearer,Glasgow 1770 original.
Not tried this so hoping it will be as good as I've heard. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e562590e43.jpg
We have just a few drops left in a bottle of sherry - delicious stuff it is/was. I thought it was a cheappie - it might have been.
Perhaps it was bought to put in recipes, rather than to drink.
Now look - https://www.wine-searcher.com/find/u...ndalucia+spain -
OK for people living in Poland - the equivalent of around £15, but it's about £120 a bottle here now!
Almost worth it though - I've not tasted anything which comes close since.
I'm still hoping that something very similar might eventually appear - but refer to the line in bold above.
I wonder if it really was a cheappie, then someone spotted it was excellent. I might post a photo of our bottle later on.
Berry Bros again, this time a speyside blend.
Pale colour, lots of honey, some caramel, oak etc. Quite fruity with apples and kiwi for me. Lovely mouthfeel too.
Splash of O2 produces more cream and apple. Sweetens slightly too.
For £28 it's very nicely balanced. Slight roughness of course but well worth money.

yes this is very nice for price .... would get again i think
Grant, have you tried the Dalmore Portwood?
If so did you like it?
I have, and still have a bit left. my review-ette.. rather nice this
Caramel and sweet stewed fruits. Quite creamy. A bit of orange too. A slight dry finish.
Quite powerful so half teaspoon of water assists in rounding edges and opening up.
rather nice this, with its long finish..
Thank you Grant ,
I have come to enjoy the Dalmore stuff ,gimmickey you bet but always has a nice flavor profile and good mouth feel appropriate for it's age and price point.
Another couple in today to fill up my cupboard as it was looking light.

Compass Box Great King Street - Artist's Blend.... nose is sweet apple and other fruit. first tast is dry, watery and not very interesting. second sip is much better; creamy lemon merangue pie. quite a lot richer.. amazing the difference. finish is medium, and gently spiced with a bit of droed fruity christmas cake; just a bit tho.
overall, i think i like this; and i wasnt going to say that after first taste... in fact its very drinkable.:)
