Ha - indeed!:D
Granty, awesome pic... Hope the whisky inside was as nice:cool:
Marco.
Grant,
This is pretty hard not to like. Just a drop of water or two and it offers far more than most none age statement scotches I have tried.
It changes as you sip ,sometimes I think I taste a small amount of peat and the next sip non at all.
$29.00 U.S. and it seems a little brother to the G.M. 14 year Quinta Ruban.
The sherry reminds me of the Redbreast Lustau , Sherry forward in the front then falls off to reveal fruits and vanilla.
If you get a chance to try this Naked Grouse, don't pass on it.
Some Highland park in there so that will be where the occasional whiff of peat comes from Jeff I guess.
Not tried it but it's good value at about £26 here.
Tomatin Legacy.
Not expensive this but a mighty nice dramhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6c62d50f39.jpg
One of the best 10yr olds today.. Just opened.. Edradour
Famed as having some of the smallest stills in country. Small stills, big flavour.. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...43d190f8d4.jpg
Sherry, oak, flowers and toffee on nose, a little dark chocolate, sherry and honey are in mouth with a fruity and spicy finish
just a note that glenfiddich have a free postage offer on from their own site in case anyone is interested

ordered a bottle of the solero 15... cheaper than the usual sites and free post.. good value i think for a sherried 15yr old £42
Thanks to some recent good news Enjoying a dram of this tonight.

Some truly great wines there at, quite frankly, daft prices!
The Chianti Riserva DOCG, in particular, is an absolute stonker - one of thee best I've ever had, and could easily command a price of three times that amount!!:trust::cheers:
Marco.
Ah, so you know?:eyebrows:
Anyway.... I'm still waiting on you going to Lidl from the last time, to check out what wines they have in your branch. Have you been yet, and if not, what's keepin' ye?:ner:;)
Marco.
Lol, no worries... You do realise that I'll keep hounding you until you go!:D:eyebrows:;)
Aldi is fine, but Lidl have the better wine selection.
Marco.
Gust got this the other day, Have you tried it Grant?
cabnet is filling up.
I got this tonight so I just have room for 3 more bottles on the top shelf.
Here everything is 750ml. so when I find a good 1 liter bottle I'm all over it.
Imperial gold.. I'll take a guess at Russian Vodka
Ok just happened to drive in to Lidl this morning and made a couple of purchases, however you do get some strange looks when you take photos of their wine, probably thought I was on a spy mission from Aldi.

Awesome, although a bit closer up, so I could see the labels more would've been good!:ner:;)
But it looks pretty similar to the layout in my store, so lots of stuff there worth buying... I'll have a closer squint later and, as I know most of those wines well, and will make a few reccos.
Glad you picked up the Chianti though, so will be interested to know what you think:cool:
Marco.
You missed the Chablis!;)
Second picture, second row down, 1st on the left!
Marco.
Talking of whisky, this is some Japanese stuff. Quite floral, but fairly young. Nice tho and fairly potent, hence a splash of the h2o is advisable.

Obviously can't end on jap juice do some islay juice too..
Bunnahhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1ec8910dc7.jpg
Yeah Robin, make sure next time you're in, you grab some of that Chablis - it's SUPERB for the money!
Ok... Wines worth getting (labels I recognise representing wine worth drinking), from the first picture, top row:

Try and nab some of those next time you're in, along with the Chablis:cheers:
Marco.
Ding,ding,ding correct guess.
Russia can make both the best and worst vodka , this one is upper middle shelf but very hard to get here.I would have liked to gotten one with the cardboard tube.
I won't pay $200.00 for a bottle of the best vodka from anywhere. It's just going to end up in a bloody marry some morning.
I do believe in getting vodka from natural water sources and 5 to 6 times distilled . The taller the column still the better it tastes.
Cheap vodka hurts my brain.
BTW the cabinet still has room for 3 more bottles, I will have to be picky.

so they made a gold bottle for donny? lol.... a bit tacky ..i wonder if he drank it:D

Came quickly from manufacturers via ups. That's the way to do it.

It was a limited run , Donald Trump doesn't drink ,he decided he never would after loosing a close family member at a young age to drinking.
Even when he orders a drink it's alcohol free. He doesn't mind if others have a sip but it is his personal vow in memory of his alcoholic brother Fred Trump JR. that died from drinking.
Donald came home from a movie to learn his brother died of a hart attack induced by drinking to much.It has upset Donald forever. Something people don't know about Donald is he really cares for people.
He believes familys are critical for children to grow up with a future, This is why he got so involved with prison reform, Drugs and drinking leads to broken family's. To many familys with Dad's locked up for small time drug offenses
while big time dealers walk free. Drugs are killing an entire generation here,I see it every day , needles, heroin, meth and crack,
Nice looking 15 year bottle ,enjoy Grant!

some of this... a bloody fruit fly kamakazied into it when i laid it down... the fool; it had its whole life ahead of itself;)
at least it died pissed.
Well Grant,
He went out in a good Dram.
An unpeated Islay , Bruichladdich The classic Laddie it was actually in a discount Grocery for $44.00 .
I'm betting it's young but I have to try it.
I know Grant has had this or at least knows it's whole story.
Your thoughts Grant?
Great price Jeff. It's about £43 here. An Islay distillery but no peat. Its profile changes by the batch tbh, but it should have a nice finish.
