plenty sherried fruit and some other fruit too; vanilla and a lot of honey. good oily mouthfeel and a long spicy finish. lots of oak

Not at all... My usual is Laphroaig, but whenever I happen across a singleton I do find it eminently quaffable. I might lower the tone with this Highland Park, which was on offer at Tesco... Surprisingly nice, if a little pointy around the edges.

Impressive collection, Grant. I tend to have one or two on the go and replenish. Might be interesting to find the space to have a real selection to choose from. I'll think on that.
By the way, I'm firmly of the opinion (reinforced by some expert whiskey drinking training I once took part in) that a splash of cool water in your whiskey is the correct way to drink most whiskeys... Or straight, never ice unless it's' throat burn'.

one of my top 5 bourbon heavy malts.. a touch of fresh burnt cask in this that you only taste after a really fruity malt.. almost tastes like smoke. very rich this.
