my second bottle of the 63 batch.. think they are now at 66. i liked this batch
Just a heads up, folks... Was in Aldi yesterday and they've got some fantastic drinkies in for Xmas - check out the range here: https://www.aldi.co.uk/c/wines/chris...ntTotalCount=9
I picked up a bottle of their 40-year old Tawny port, which considering the quality is excellent value at £34.99, and among other stuff, a bottle of 2019 Grand Vallon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grande Réserve white, for £14.99: https://www.aldi.co.uk/white-chateau...07569433605400
And also a bottle of Princes de France Gigondas 2018, for £9.99 and a lovely 2017 Médoc Cru Bourgeois, for £7.49, which really was a Billy Bargain! Also got a traditional Scottish Batch gin, from St Andrews, housed in a rather attractive stone bottle, for £17.99:

Not a massive gin drinker, but looking forward to trying that one:)
HURRY NOW, while stocks last to secure these wonderful Christmas slurps!
Marco.
aldi do some decent booze at times. the ports ive had there have been excellent. cant comment on gin tho
Yup... They (and Lidl) are consistently good in that respect, throughout the year, but particularly at Christmas, as many of their 'Specials' are very much *exactly* that!:)
Like you, I'm not a massive gin fan, but we wanted something nice in, so we can offer guests a quality G&T, plus for making Del some 'princess cocktails' she likes with gin in. I also got some flavoured ones for when her pals come over during the Xmas hols.
They're trendy just now, especially as some of Del's female friends are still in their 20s. I'll no doubt be on 'bar duty' again, unless I'm TOLD to bugger off, like last time!:D
Marco.
Marco,
It sounds like Aldi is like Costco , for Holiday bottles.
I have a friend who buys all his whiskey around Christmas for the whole year because the prices are so good.
If you see a deal on Glenfarclas 15,17,18,21,25 go for it very good stuff in those bottles.
The Rasteau doesn't look too shabby either. :)

Yes, I've had it, Barry, and it's excellent. That Médoc looks rather good too, and a silly price for the quality on offer, so you may like to visit your local branch and 'purloin' a few!;)
Marco.
Hi Jeff,
Yeah you're on the money there, dude. We've also got Costco here. I opened an account at our local branch years ago, used it twice and haven't been back since, simply because it's not somewhere I'd normally think of using, but they did have some decent stuff there last time:)
Marco.
