Grant, I think I have never tried it but I have heard of it. I used to drink scotch in my 20's and 30's I was lucky it was a time when very good stuff was affordable here in the U.S.
I am happy when I find a bottle of anything by anyone that tastes really good and can be had for under $50.00 to $60.00 a bottle or less.
My go to for an evening is Crown Royal for whiskey but it by the 1.75 liter, I just found a really good batch of Sailor Jerry's Rum and got a 1.75 liter bottle of that.
Smaller bottles 750ML or what we call a 5th. These are usually my better more expensive bottles I drink with friends and I try to keep them no more than $60.00.
I watch sales here a lot to try new whiskey's, In California alcohol has high taxes.
I am just now starting to try different whiskeys , when I was in High School Jack Daniels was 90 proof not 80 proof and that was the only whiskey of my generation.
I have a good friend one of my sons coaches who loves Irish Whiskey and his favorite is Red Breast . He said , I 'll let you try some next time you come over.
