I never drink red wine on its own, white wine only occasionally on its own, but only in the summer, well chilled, ditto rosé. Malt whisky is a different ball game, in that respect, and doesn't require the intake of food to be enjoyed.
So maybe tell us next time when you open a bottle of red? In terms of the bit in bold about beer, I'd like to hear more about that... Remember that this is a beer thread, just as much as a wine and whisky one!;)
