Joe Henry - reverie (2LP, ANTI Records 2011)
I really like the raw, non-overproduced/polished sound of this!
If you like your Tom Waits/Nick Cave/Ray LaMontagne this might be right up your alley!

Anohni -'Hopelessness' Vinyl
Is that any good? I ask that because I have all his stuff prior to his name change and what I've heard since seems very different.

Really unusual and strangely haunting, I like Alison Goldfrapp's work very much
Just had a wander round the park with the wife and dog followed by a nice pint and a light lunch. Am now back home with the plan being to relax with some tunes and more beers:D
First up on the TT is bowie's latest Black star followed by Kendrick Lamars to pimp a butterfly I think. From there who knows :D
Seems you had a good day Zoidburg!

Valerie June - Pushin' Against A Stone (LP, Sunday Best 2013)
Started spinning the US pressing of this but very quickly lost interest due to a really bland pressing, lacking in sparkle, air and dynamics.
Switched to my european pressing and everything was transformed...
The audio is soooo much better! I haven't heard the difference nearly as obvious before...
Oh, due to a cock up from local record store i have one european and one US pressing. They are visually different concerning the tracks and weight to, the european some 20-30gr heavier.

London Grammar - If You Wait (Tidal, 16/44.1)
http://e.snmc.io/lk/f/a/15c3e1792dff...e9/1965515.jpg
x5 LP set repressed by !k7 and remastered by Bernie Grundman.
2 tracks per side it sounds very dynamic, more involving than the CD I had in the 90s.

The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath (FLAC 16/44.1, 2007)
An enjoyable listen, can be very punishing if the mood or equipment is not in phase!
Something to be said for period set up's just set up the Teleton 206B Amplifier & Castle Clyde Speakers & Cambridge CD34 OK the Cambridge is not period correct but a little bit of fun....

First UK pressing, sounds really wonderful. Much better than the CD I've listened to for 30 years.
At last I received a Discogs 'Near Mint' that actually is. It's like a lottery on there!

Third listen to Brian Eno's latest one this evening. A gorgeous piece of work in my honest opinion. Quite a trip. His voice has matured very nicely, sounding a little Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance) at times. Recommended.
