I like my record weight, no faff at all. I'd have this off you, but mine is nowhere near worn out :D GLWS
My turntable came supplied with no platter mat, and a heavy record weight, which were no doubt found to measure better than the alternative. And the Technics-derived high torque motor has no problem with it. I have faith in the manufacturer's decision, and feel no need to challenge it by going against it. And I think it just looks right - on the occasions when I forgot to put it on, I got an OCD itch I couldn't ignore.
At £20 I'd say it's worth trying. And if it doesn't work out, it could become a really nice paperweight - ideal xmas gift for anyone working in a draughty office.
If I have to work any harder at selling your clamp I'll be wanting commission :D
