It's a shame you have to go back so far in the past to find some (semi) glory days though isn't it? :D
Lol - oh I know... Difference is though, we're SHITE, and we *know* we are, whereas you always think you're capable of winning the World Cup [completely unjustifiably, IMO, and forever chunter on about 19 bloody 66], but since then frequently fall woefully short, which is always rather funny!:ner::D
;)
At least my other team (Italy) always has a realistic chance...
Marco.
not still going on about hand of god are we ;) whit aboot the over the line goal in 66 ?:eyebrows:
Indeed, but life is full of 'what ifs'...:)
IMO, it would be far better for England to enter tournaments, playing down their chances of winning them (considering themselves instead as UNDERDOGS), and just taking one game at a time, which I'm sure is what the players and manager do (as anything else simply reeks of arrogance, and pisses off the non-English like you wouldn't believe, especially the Scots) - it's the bloody jingoistic English media and TV pundits (and some sections of the fans) that are the real problem!
Being English, and therefore an England fan, you won't really appreciate just how annoying that is to have to listen to, when you've got English TV pundits (often ex-players) predicting who England could meet in the quarter or semi-finals of the competition, after having only played ONE group game!!:wanker::punch:
FUCK right off..... How I wish I could give some of them a damn good slap! It's also why everyone else laughs out loud when they (usually sooner rather than later) get put out!:D
Marco.
Lol... The problem is, England fans are under the illusion that their international team is far better than it actually is, seemingly justified by the notion that the EPL is one of the best leagues in the world, which of course is true, BUT largely because of all the foreigners playing there making it so, and who sadly con't play for England!:D
