Next up are two Verdier Platine turntable style solid copper cube bases and ebony top boards.
The copper cubes had to be cast at a foundry and weight 5-6kgs each.
The ebony armboards are 2x1" thick and 2x1.25" thick.
Drilling, machining and finishing of the ebony to go.

Here are the copper cube bases and ebony armboards made and finished.
These fit Verdier Platine.
One of them was made for the SME range of arms. A SME V will be used in this customers set up.

The ebony platforms & supports, copper & ebony armboards and aluminium & ebony motor mount made it to Hong Kong in great time, thanks Transglobal Express.
All mounted up on the customers amazing turntable.
Here's some early feedback
"Hi Steve
Everything arrived safely. Installed one copper/ebony armboard and some of the ebony footers on JC Verdier. Oh wow - more smoother, luscious music; better extended, deeper bass
Thanks again
David"

Another La Platine Verdier arm block.
This time in billet aluminium to match the one I made last year work an SME arm mount.
For the same customer, one arm is never enough[emoji846]

The Cabinets I made for a pair of Tannoy HPD drivers could finally be collected after the lockdown easing.
The drivers were dropped off to me and I installed them during the day for afternoon collection.
The aftermarket crossovers are external hence dedicated boxes.
Nice components in the crossovers.
We also used high quality Janzen integral cable and gold plated Tannoy 4 pin plugs.
These are built using the Scandinavian birch plywood throughout and designed to be taller and narrower than the original Tannoy GRFs.
Modelled you have the same tuned backloaded horn path.
These also feature the bass cleaning up Tear drop baffle in the throat of the horn section.
The taller, narrower footprint make them easier to position in smaller and medium sized rooms.
Finished in English light oak.
The customer (a Dolby surround sound engineer) had the drivers in original chipboard Tannoy Berkeley cabinets.
Needless to say the cabinet material, construction and backloaded horn bass make these a very much improved Hi-fi experience.

Heavy armpod now finished.
Fitted with a Jelco armbase mounting. The internals are designed to also fit the larger Fidelity Reseach FR64S/66S tonearm.
Pictured with my arm test fitting.
These are cast lead filled for super stability and mass. 3 brass adjustable height feet and ebony armboard (of course[emoji846]).
