One of the original founders of AoS, daftee, and who has now moved on with his other interests.
Marco.
OK as you are aware I inflickted myself on the forum in 2012 :) , Just can't remember him
He may have been pretty much gone, due to family commitments, etc, by the time you joined. He was a good guy though, and I can assure you one of the main reasons why AoS is what it is today!:)
Marco.
Rob was the guy who came up with the AOS colour-scheme and initial graphics, which we've evolved over the years but which he'd recognise fondly if he were to come back here anytime. I believe he started his own Computer consultancy in Norwich some time back...
He also made some rather good electronic music - which coincidentally I found my CD of the other day.
Ah, not quite true... He and I chose the colour scheme together (very carefully, after much deliberation), and he implemented it!;)
it needed to be *totally* different from either the drab grey or cold blue colour (soulless and insipid IT-inspired crap), used by the majority of forums back then. We wanted something warmer, richer and more distinctive!
Marco.
Lol - and he LOVED that! We also played some of it at the first AoS system demo at Scalford.
My fondest memory of that though, was Nick's superb Nagra R2R, playing his eclectic mix of Floyd tracks... Not that he really likes the band THAT much!:D
Marco.
Just seen this, nice to have an enquiry. :)
As for music making, it's been too many years since I properly composed anything. I have a bit of an urge to back to writing, but mostly I'm too mentally tired after a day's work (IT takes it out of you). I have a large back catalogue, some of which I've recently remastered into 24/192 masterings from the original sequences. Sometimes I smile, mostly though it depresses me to listen to my old tracks.
I have a separate production system with a variety of DACs and speakers for mixing, so maybe I should get off my lazy butt and put finger to key again.
And yes, this place was Marco's colour palette and design (he knows art after all), I just did some number meddling. It was good fun setting it up. :)
