Actually, it's not too bad. Dry for now, but rain forecast.
dry, reasonably bright after a very dull start. Rained all night I think.
Tomorrow is rain all day again.
Three times today we've had a dry spell long enough for the car to dry out enough for me to carry on waxing it and each time I've gone out to do it, it starts raining again!
Really sunny now. Might go out and hunt for food.
sharpen your spear and polish your arrows
Trip successful. Got tea, cereal, milk, and baccy. Also picked up my newly repaired Denon PMA250 UKSE from the pro shop. More on that later.
Bought it June 2019 off of eBay but volume pot knackered so the output was at full all the time. Advertised as 'in full working order' ofc.
Pro shop don't have much on at the moment as all gigs etc cancelled so I gave them some bits and pieces to fix. £5 for a new vol pot and £30 labour... I should really learn to do this stuff myself.
Meanwhile - dry but not sunny here. Did go dark earlier so thought it might rain but it didn't and now it's gone bright again.
Raining here. It was quite heavy an hour or so ago, but has eased off and now stopped.
According to the forecast it should be raining heavily here right now. But it isn't.
Looking ahead it starts raining again at 0500 tomorrow morning and doesn't stop until 2200 on Sunday. Lovely.
Hardly any rain today, the forecast was completely wrong. So much for the weather warnings.
Rained all day here. It eased up twice enough to walk the dog while it was just spitting (the rain that is, not the dog :D).
Dry and sunny all day, about 13c
Still raining. It hasn't actually stopped all day.
Just a few spots today, not even 0.5mm. But more forecast tonight and tomorrow.
More rain, it's still not stopped.
Rained all night and still going now.
Again very little rain here, just 1.5mm since noon yesterday but it is a damp misty day.
Actually it has started raining now but it's not heavy, going to get windy again tomorrow. Forecast for next week is better with just a few showers, Monday and Tuesday and then sunny after that.
to rain all day and night here.. a day to stay in with films and muzac.... mind you i do that anyway, but i wont feel guilty
Time to dust off the ark building instructions.
Just had a 20 min break in the deluge, just long enough to walk the mutt around the block. Pissing down again now!
Still raining here and it's really dark too. Welcome to October.
Yup, same here. Nice and cosy though with the wood burner lit, and dark days like this are perfect for watching movies, so we'll be doing that! :)
Del was meant to be having a girly night in/sleepover with two of her friends, but they've caught a stomach bug going round the college they work in, so that's been called off. Can't say I'm too disappointed, as I'd been 'instructed' lol, to go round to my dad's! Think the girlies wanted to be able to wander around in their undies without 'preying eyes':eyebrows:
Anyway, the weather's forecast to be shitty (same tomorrow), until Wednesday, where it clears up a bit, then back to the pish....
Marco.
Raining all day so far, and of course no visiting anyone’s house
In Scotland, does that also include those in your 'bubble' - or perhaps you haven't created one?:)
Marco.
same here.. son wanted to come for coffee but couldnt.. daughter can as she provides me with care... but thats not often
Crazy though innit, you can meet up INSIDE in a pub or restaurant, mingling with goodness knows who, but you can't meet inside in your own house!:mental::rolleyes:
Marco.
My understanding is that you can't meet up in a pub with folk from another household, although you could sit at separate tables and shout to each other across the room...
As things stand, going to the pub is more hassle than it's worth. But really I didn't go very often anyway, except for a bite to eat. It's visiting friends in their homes I really miss.
We had a couple lunches recently, one with the family and one on our own, wont go near a bar at night just now.
Rain last night and this morning (not too heavy), looking like it may rain again soon. But, lovely afternoon walk by the Stour (Suffolk side :)) :

approaching Holbrook mill - can sometimes catch a glimpse of a Kingfisher here, but not today unfortunately:

Surprisingly mild - had to take our jackets off about half way around
Exactly my point... So one wonders what makes the inside of a pub 'safer' for meeting up in that respect, than the inside of your house or that of your friends/family?
Answer: fook all, indeed the pub is likely to be less safe, simply due to a greater/wider conglomeration of people, any of whom could potentially be carrying the virus - *BUT* the government want to try and encourage folks to go out/spend money and keep the economy going.
Therefore, that's why you can still meet up with people from another household in pubs and restaurants [in England and Wales] - PROVIDING that is you're not in a local lockdown, in which case mixing with anyone other than those you live with, INDOORS ANYWHERE (other than in shops selling essential items), is prohibited until the lockdown is over.
However, meeting OUTDOORS is allowed, including gardens, up to a maximum of 30 people.
Marco.
Not much rain yesterday but some overnight and more this morning, forecast says rain all day but they said that yesterday.
Drier today, so far compared with the deluge of rain yesterday, but still pretty grey and overcast. Not too cold though at 12C.
Marco.
dry right now but overcast. It rained heavily all night.
Forecast say it will stay like this all day. Tomorrow's is for continuous rain 0700 to midnight.
Another wet day ahead
Sun's been out for past hour or so. I should be using this time to give the van a butch out, but Mrs. P's gone back to bed for a couple of hours. So that's my cue to play a couple of albums that she would charitably describe as 'crap' :)
If your son or daughter are living alone, then you can form an extended household, but only with one of them.
I think this rule still applies - https://www.gov.scot/publications/co...d%20households
Maybe visiting your mum means you can't - as you're only supposed to form one extended household.
I'm not aware of any rules which allow for the suspension of an extended household - for example - a two week gap which could be useful if one wanted to meet different people for Christmas.
Just had a message from Floodline - maybe a bridge nearby is going to close due to potential flood risks.
Floodline called me to day that there was a flood and to take immediate action. Took a walk down to the river and it would have had to come up another 20 feet to top the bank, let alone get all the way to my house and flood it. In short - bollocks. Next time I got one I ignored it. Nothing happened. If they are going to keep crying wolf then the system doesn't work.
Certainly wetter today, only 2mm yesterday, already over 8mm and still raining.
Saw some of the golf highlights in Scotland last night, looked pretty wet, some said it was the worst conditions they have ever played in.
Four inches of water in the road outside my place. Drains have been blocked for thirty years and nobody bothers to sort it. Private road!
rained most of night as well here, and early this morning but sun is out now. about 12c and a chilly easterly wind
