Marco.
ive a near full tank. it takes 9.5 gals, so at least 400 miles; probably a fair bit more. i'd guess nearer 500
I did 660 miles last year and my car does about 66 mpg on a run. Speaks for itself really. :)
My bike is similar range, I don’t even have a warning light, just a small reserve (never actually hit it, fill up after 100 miles.) it’s nearly full, so a contingency if needed. I have 1/4 tank in my car, about 160 miles, and half a tank in the Land Rover (200 miles at a guess). Sue is the one that needs it to get to work and drop Billy to school (around 60 miles a day) and has enough to get her to Thursday I think. After that, she’s working from home and Billy’s off school. Marco, revisiting a discussion we had a few weeks ago (pay at pump vs. pay in kiosk):
A couple of weeks ago I went to my usual Sainsbury's to fill up the Vito. The pay at pump facility wasn't working, meaning I had to pay in person. The woman in the kiosk said to me "It's Steve isn't it?" and proceeded to tell me how much they love the new door I fitted a few months ago, and how they'll be calling me for new windows next spring.
So you're right, paying in person has a social aspect. Which is nice, though I doubt the queue behind me would have agreed :)
Lol, nice one. Well, for me, you earned the right to have that chat, from the quality of product and service you delivered to the customer concerned, and which is always nice to receive - which of course, as you've rightly said, you'd have missed if you'd paid at the pump:)
So yes, sometimes it pays to opt for the 'human touch', especially in today's growingly unhuman world. I'm sure that the brief word you had with her wouldn't have delayed anyone's progress much - and in any case folks are always in too much of a hurry these days, so it'd have done them good to chill for a few moments!;)

You can't fault the good folks at Texaco for keeping in touch with their valued customers: http://a.cly.cx/a/xMCCuvBk78y
Some of the stories though of sub-humans attacking petrol tankers and/or fighting with other drivers over fuel, beggars belief! I'd jail them all for a month, and see how 'important' £20 worth of diesel is to them then!:wanker:
Marco.
I heard on the radio today that a person was filling up his tank, when towards the end he noticed the litre indicator hadn't been ticking over. So he went into the kiosk and asked them what he should do, to which he was told that since the pump had not registered the amount dispensed, as far as they were concerned it was a 'no sale'. Thus the guy was not only able to fill his tank, but got around £100 worth of petrol for free!
