Hi Guys
If this helps -
Just tried L&R - Left disconnected from CD player sound still in both speakers balance in the middle - Right Disconnected sound still in both speakers balance in the middle - when altered to the left to right it goes silent so the channels are their
Something still a miss though..
Help from PFM i have tried a different DIN in the preamp section and this confirms their is output to both left and right channels under light touch on the pins.
Interesting history here, it says they were often used in an active setup driving HF/LF on one channel, I wonder if that is achieved with the mono button or an external/internal switch/link.

I don't know the Nytech circuit so could be talking rubbish but it looks to me like there's a fault at the mono/stereo switch (if there is one). Both channels seem to be working and appear to be being summed. That's going to happen after a gain/buffer stage I'd suspect. If I'm correct and there's a tape out then that might still be working in stereo if you can try it? If not it takes the fault to even earlier in the circuit.
Either its been hard wired for mono - might have been done many moons ago - or it might be a failed mono switch or shorted pin on it. It should be easy to check if you can get it open. At least both channels are working!
Hi James
Thanks for the Info - i have been quoted £300 by nytech for a full service but i just want to see if it can be converted to stereo are their any kind hearted souls on here willing to take a look for me?
Just taken it In for repair with a local repair company.
It a Pre amplifier Board Fault but guy said like looking for Needle in a Haystack someones been in their in the past..
Any Back up Ideas - I know nytech do new boards at £50 - I already have £100 all in on this already do i put it to one side or get another another opinion?
Its a good amp and the repair costs wont buy much of a replacement, i'd get it repaired if you've been happy with it.
