The £10 Tesco Meal Deal is a real bargain. Side dish, main, desert and bottle of wine for a tenner!

Never in them. We use Lidl (and sometimes Aldi) almost exclusively for our basic, day to day stuff, and Waitrose (as far as supermarkets go), for anything 'high-end'. Otherwise, we use farmer's markets, often for fresh veg, and the local butchers/fishmongers for the majority of our fresh meat or fish.
Occasionally we also source stuff, such as some Italian ingredients (e.g. white truffles, for risotto, or some cured meats) from online specialists.

Fair enough, but your new car should help you get around more:)
The main point I was making is that, unless you're a brand-name freak, there's very little for sale in Tesco or Morrisons (Asda or Sainsbury's too, for that matter) that you can't get a perfectly good equivalent of in Lidl, and usually cheaper. Waitrose (or sometimes M&S) is different, as they sell some genuinely different things of high quality.
The fresh bread selection available in Waitrose, for example, is simply phenomenal.

i would say there are lots of things tbh, but it obviously depends on what you eat etc. i shop everywhere when and where i can. i like good ready meals with good dates on hand for when im not up to making anything as well. tonight im not even able to heat one of them up. i can barely walk. so off to bed shortly.
Different ballgame mate, if you've got a disability. That puts a completely different perspective on matters. You've discovered the joys of Lidl's Deluxe pasta range, though;)
Plus, one thing we rarely do is plan in advance what we're going to eat. That's too regimented and boring! Monday is toad in the hole, Friday is fish, and all that pish... We buy what we *fancy* eating on any given day, or what looks good/grabs our attention when we go into a shop or market.
The only time we write shopping lists, is to remind us to buy the very basics (bog roll, washing power, etc), or when we're looking for specific ingredients to make a recipe. Being spontaneous is much more fun!:)
Enjoy your rest.

In the course of a month I use most of the supermarket chains because each has something unique. Although Waitress is generally pricey, its specialty loose leaf teas are very keenly priced. Can't be faffed going to supermarket so generally get home delivery!
