They are a competent budget deck and they look pretty good too. I'd say yes.
Good little deck. Arm is decent enough for MC carts.

Can't go wrong in my opinion
Always fancied one of these, very pretty, but haven't owned one yet.
I had one before I bought my first LP12, bloody good deck and as Geoff said pretty decent arm. Looks good too.
Yes, I like the Sansui and also the Pioneer PL-12D. They are worthy little TT's that need very little fettling to just keep on going. I've kept a PL-12D (and there may be another in the loft), but there's really little to choose between them apart from looks. Both have a better quality main bearing than the largely similar Trio KD-1033.
I had one, should have kept it. I decided to try a new deck, a Rega Planar 1, which is fine just a bit of a faff to swap cartridges. They sound similar to me but I don't have fancy kit so differences are probably less noticeable.
When I got it the belt had disintegrated and needed cleaning off and a new one putting on and I think I cleaned and replaced the bearing oil but other than that it worked fine despite not being used for many years.
Can’t comment on the Mk2 but I did have the original 222, have to say that wasn’t too hot, vibration isolation was non existent and it was very feedback prone and the arm was too heavy to be compatible with the popular high compliance cartridges of the era, the Mk2 would have to be a lot better to be worthy of consideration.

I bought one of these new when I was about 18, got a lot of pleasure from it. Actually I still have it, stored away.
