Well Yorkshire is a Kingdom, the biggest county in the uk albeit 75% of it is a cack hole, but they are very lucky they are allowed in
Not what I say, but what others say gets my goat - biggest offender is when someone says “Pacific” instead of “specific” - I literally want to rip out their jugular with my bare hands! *
* legal clarification - if you say Pacific instead of specific I won’t actually murder you, just in my head. [emoji51]
Some people just like to find things to get offended by - if some woman was offended by me calling them love I'd just enquire if it was that time of the month, thereby showing them my sensitive side :)
Women have been calling me love all my life, but almost always older women. Happening less and less :(
For me, it's not so much *what* you say, but how you say it. Calling women "love" isn't something I do, but if said in the right way (with friendliness and warmth), it shouldn't cause offence. Ultimately, it's all about the TONE you use to express yourself.
My pet hate is guys who are married referring to their wives as 'the wife', rather than 'my wife', which just sounds much nicer and more respectful. If I ever referred to Del as 'the wife", she'd rightfully give me a slap!:D
Marco.
They do. I bumped into a woman's supermarket trolley that was in the way whilst shopping and moved it a few inches. She wasn't even holding onto it, but still said loudly, "excuse me". I just told her to shut up :). What was she expection, that I apologise to a trolley?
around here, it used to be at least, that women got called hen. by both men an women, and as a matter of friendliness.. "thanks hen"
My mother, who wasnt from here, when first hearing it, was quite upset lol
