I agree - "Fusion" is a matter of taste, and in general I'm not much of a fan of it. But there are a few exceptions, and Stanley Clarke is one of them. :)

I came across Carey Bell by accident for a recommended test/listening track for HiFi, and like it so much I decided to hunt down some of his recordings. Initially I went for this complication which is excellent. All relatively unknown Blues artists, but all very good musicians. I might have to get some more of this series.
