Yeah, ditto. Defo one of the good guys and sad loss to football. Unlike some others, I don't remember him for being part of the 1966 thing, or his Leeds Utd days, which were before my time, but the SUPERB Republic of Ireland side he took to the quarter finals of the World Cup in 1990, with Celtic's Pat Bonnar in goals!
What a team that was, and a truly incredible achievement for a team like R.O.I - and which I doubt will ever be repeated! Major respect, big man, and RIP.
Marco.
I knew there was a good reason I upgraded my Virgin TV package to include (for free) access to the Premier Sports channels...

:yay::yay:
Although, I'm not looking forward to seeing how many goals PSG will pump us by!:eek:
Marco.
i see your striker has come back unfit Marco, and isnt going to France.. daft laddie that as he has talent but pisses it away.. Gers seem to be at same tourney for some reason it seems; dunno if they will play each other tho..
at least your season seems to be starting on 1st august, as long as hearts etc challenge is booted out;... which it will be:lol:
Well, Canaries relegated which is no surprise but disappointed with the lack of passion since the comeback from lockdown. When virtually every other team in the league has a player worth more than your entire squad it is always going to be mission impossible but I would have liked them to have shown a bit more of a fight. Oh well, should be used to it now, Norwich take the title for most relegated team from the Premier League ever (fifth time) but I suppose the flip side of that is that based on historical evidence we can get back up there again.
I see Man City have had their Euro ban overturned(as I thought).. so they will play in the champions league next season
Just stumbled across 'Match of the Day'. Now I have not the slightest interest in football, but was fascinated to see the game was being played in an empty stadium, yet a 'crowd' soundtrack was being used, presumably to make the experience more realistic to the TV viewers
As I obviously do have an interest in audio, I would be curious to know if the soundtrack is synthesised, as the 'crowd' noise got louder and more excited as one side or the other gained an advantage. I cannot see how this could be done with a recording.
Something to discuss at half time?
A sound engineer mixes real crowd noise on the fly. The audio was supplied by ea sports afaik
