We played some stunning football yesterday in our 6-0 home win against Ross County, ironically more in the first half when we only scored one goal, and when it could've easily been six!! The second half was a total non-contest and we simply blew Ross County away. In all honestly, we could've won 12-0... I've never seen a team so comprehensively annihilated!
And in Jeremie Frimpong, Man City have sold us a REAL gem for a bargain price - WHAT a player, and only 18 - a right back who not only made 3 of our goals yesterday, but who's speed, positional awareness and passing accuracy were in the top rank!
If he continues at this level, he'll be a Belgian international before long and another player we'll eventually sell for HUGE money! Massively impressed with this boy:)
Anyway, it's over now to Rangers, who I fully expect today to beat Hearts, and go top again. For me this season, the winner of the league will come down to which team comes out on top of our head to head clashes, which I think will be crucial - providing that is we learn how to play away from home on plastic pitches!
Then midweek, we'll have some very interesting European games to look forward to..... I'm expecting our game against Lazio to be a thriller!
Marco.
yeah it was a good way to reply from losing... we are up v hearts who really need to win, and it wouldnt surprise me if they do
no sooner than i type and hearts are 1 up.. i should be a forecaster
Well, I got it right in the first half, when it was 0-0!:D
Marco.
1-1 now.. el bufallo with equalizer.. god knows where we will be if we sell him, which we must sometime alas.
So I see it finished 1-1, and we stay top on goals scored... I guarantee it'll be 'seesaw' like this for the rest of the season, with either one or the other top, and plenty more twists and turns to come!
At least it looks like both Edinburgh teams are capable of giving us a game, so any points won at Easter Road or Tynecastle will have been hard earned. It's why I wasn't too dismayed at us drawing 1-1 with Hibs, as their play that day warranted them getting a point, and neither Celtic or Rangers have a God-given right to win every game, so for me that was fine.
It was our 2-0 defeat at Livingston, particularly the manner of it, which was extremely disappointing! And we also struggled at Killie, on another plastic pitch, although we managed to get the win. For me, however, much like Celtic only deserved a point against Hibs, it was the same for Rangers today against Hearts, as like us at Hibs, they didn't play well enough to take all three points.
Definitely not a disaster though for Rangers, as they're still right in the hunt, and both teams will drop points away from home at other grounds before the season ends. So it's Porto away on Thursday now - that is going to a VERY tough game, as it will be for Celtic against Lazio, and for me these games will show exactly how good both teams *really* are on a bigger stage, out with of the SPL.
Marco.
No comments, chaps?:)
Marco.
Worst weve played tbh. Worse than the celtic game. First 15, we were worse than a 3rd div side.
Still hoping several billy big baws get booted for it.
