If you were unaware of us recently being hacked, via an 'SQL Injection', then please see where this matter has been discussed: https://theartofsound.net/forum/show...54#post1138354
The company we've used to install the Firewall are experts in their field, so we're confident that its installation will be effective in preventing such a situation from reoccurring.
Basically, it puts a layer of protection between our site and any hackers, and looks out for hackers trying to break into the site and stops them. In particular it stops hackers trying to exploit known vulnerabilities in websites, which in turn could compromise your stored personal data, if your passwords here are not strong enough, as that's often their way in!
Therefore, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you all to strengthen your passwords and/or change them completely, in order to make it much harder for hackers to infiltrate the site and compromise yours (and our) data.
As mentioned, we've had to pay (a significant sum), which is over and above our projected annual running costs, in order to employ the services of the company in question, therefore if any of you are able to make a donation to those costs, however small, and help protect both you and the site in future, it will be very gratefully received.
