Well the weather is OK actually, but I thought I'd start this thread! :)
Give it a chance, it's already clouding over here.
weather's turned here.. been wet, still showery. was nice in morning tho
Thick cloud and very humid. I'm like a limp lettuce.
Quite warm here in Cuckfield :)
Sea mist is trying to decide whether to come in or go out here by the sea. It's warm though with very light airs. :)
Searing hot here in the direct sun.... A bit too hot for me, but at least it's dry, as I've got three original stained-glass oak Victorian doors to wax, for the lounge, kitchen and downstairs bedroom areas, ready to be hung on Sunday.
They're coming up quite well I think, although because they're sat on top of a covered table, you can't make out the colours of the stained-glass panels, which in reality have a burgundy red border, with amber and black coloured inlays. The glass inlays actually date back to the 17th century:

Should be nice when I put the handles on (which are antique solid-ebony 'beehive' shaped), and get the joiner to hang them!
Marco.
Look very nice Marco, good to see we've got past the 'panel over it' or 'chuck away and buy new' of the eighties. These were made by real craftsmen, no power tools in those days!
Cheers mate, indeed! They're so solidly made and heavy. These are the handles that will be going on them:

Marco.
nice and sunny at moment... its the local gala day so folk will be happy.
It's not much of anything here. Mild but cloudy.
Bit of cloud about but still sunny. Lots of gals off to gala day and neighbour is sunbathing. Doesn't happen much here. Lol.
Dull and overcast here, and humid, but so far dry. Hoping for better tomorrow, so we can enjoy our Sunday lunch al fresco! :)
Marco.
Currently 17 deg and drizzle - perfect weather for re-roofing the garage! Oh well I'm committed now. Can't believe the numpty who originally built it used chipboard and torch-on felt. All turned into Weetabix.
Just need to take roof down to bare bones, then put on OSB and Firestone Rubbercover, then it can piss down for all I care. :) Trims, fascias and guttering can wait till next Saturday.
Lol... Say you'll buy her some new batteries for her 'thingy' [even push the boat out with Duracells], if she makes you a nice roast dinner!:D:eyebrows:
;)
Marco.
Thank goodness we've been blessed with a beautiful sunny day here in Wrexham, which will allow us to enjoy our Sunday lunch, al fresco! :yay:
Today it's chilli-infused hot-smoked salmon with a red onion and pepper salad, following by barbecued lamb cutlets, with loads of veg! I may be some time
Pics to follow on the food thread...
Marco.
I'm roasting here mate at 28C. I was just outside chopping some ivy down, but had to pack it in. Getting too hot.
colder here. maybe a paltry 14c
Currently 24°C here, which is warm enough! Just sipping a glass of Castillo De Anna Gran Reserva (from Valencia), under the shade of the parasol, after having scoffed my lamb cutlets:)

Awesome stuff!
Marco.
Very dull today. 19C at the moment and the sky is a blanket of grey. It feels like rain may be on the way.
*Exactly* as it is here. As long as it stays dry until I cut the grass (which is growing like billy-o at the moment), that's cool:)
Marco.
Need a body warmer on here. Not cold but not exactly warm either. Fairy dry at moment. Been out for shopping so it can do its worst now [emoji3]
Jeez mate, it's 23°C here - and I'm sweltering!
Marco.
I think Grant could do with a summer holiday in Wrexham. Marco's gazebo could easily be converted to a holiday chalet. :)
Ha-ha... You'd be at home in there too, Geoff, as that's where I keep all my finest selection of frocks:eyebrows:
Still bloody ROASTING here!
Marco.
I've heard the bloke in the big house plays horrible music till all hours :(
was a lovely day yesterday. a bit cloudy this morning but sun is threatening. about 12c at moment
Shame it's cloudy where you are, mate. It's another super-scorchio day here! :)
Going out for lunch later with my dad to one of our favourite country pubs, situated beside a river with canal boats:

Wish you could join me there, sipping a nice frothy pint of real ale!
Marco.
At the moment it's 18C and we have a sort of clammy gloom. Think it may get sunny.
There's a canal about two hundred yards away with plenty of boats on. I have a few mates who live on them.
No complaints this month. I was sizzling like a sausage yesterday and its an absolute scorcher again today.
It's fab, mate. Small and family run, which is the best. Nice chilled-out atmosphere, especially when the 'great unwashed' are at work lol, and the food and beer are great! Just taking the car now for it's weekly wash (too hot to do it myself), and then I'll be off:)
Marco.
You know you can have too much of a good thing.
I've been doing some more work on my garage roof, but the heat up there is unbearable. I took the thermometer from the garden and sat it on the roof, and the mercury rose to 48 deg C. It only goes up to 50.
I'm sacking it off until after tea, and I'll just have some time in the garden with Steve Wright and a cold drink. :)
28.3 degrees C at my desk. A new record!
got my shorts on  not fitted into these for years :eyebrows: about 18c here
Another lovely day on the west coast
Just back from having enjoyed a lovely pub lunch:)
It's sweltering here, currently 26°C, and rising... Simply too hot to sit outside, so currently inside, where it's considerably cooler, as earlier before I left, I drew all the curtains in the lounge to keep the sun out!
Just sipping an cold glass of Coke, with lots of ice and a slice of fresh lemon... Sometimes, when it's *this* hot, an ice-cold Coca-Cola really hits the spot!!
Marco.
Rather dull and overcast today, but still clammy. Looks like rain later, which would be good, as it'll freshen things up a bit and give the garden a much needed watering!:)
Marco.
Sun is out here again cooling but warming up. May hit 17c.
Got a trapped nerve in my groin and a muscle knot in my back added to my usual so won't be enjoying it
Sorry to hear that, mate. Hope it eases soon. I guess it's better it being nice and sunny, whilst having all that to deal with, then freezing cold and pishing down with rain.
Marco.
not a happy bunny:doh: got a hotpack on.. outside of thigh is numb and inside is like having shingles. the muscle at back stops you sleeping right... fed up with it all quite frankly
Not exactly cold here down here on the south coast, but its grey, overcast and a bit dreary, and has been all week. A bit of sunshine and some blue skies wouldnt go amiss, especially as I could do with an injection of cheer before heading off to Ireland next week to see the outlaws.
Whilst this may sound good, they are the only teetotal house in the country, and live in the arse end of nowhere just outside Athlone - it's always grey, drab and miserable there, even on the rare occasions when the sun comes out! :(
Lol, we've pretty much had great weather all week.... Still, look on the positive side, at least you'll be seeing somewhere different for a change! Are you going by car?
If so, I'd also use the opportunity to tour around some of the local area, or plot a route from wherever you land in Ireland, to your destination, which allows you to experience what the rest of the country has to offer. Having that sort of freedom and flexibility is one of the reasons why we almost always go places by car:)
Marco.
Good god, no - I drove over by car once for our wedding and NEVER again!
Compare:
Option 1 - 4 hours to Fishguard in the car, 3 hours on the ferry (it was only an hour and a bit when I did it, but that was on the SeaCat, which no longer does Fishguard to Rosslare) and then another 2.5 hours on somewhat ‘rural’ roads at the other end.
Option 2 - 25 minutes drive to Southampton Airport, 1 hour drinking coffee and having breakfast in the airport, 1 hour 15 minutes flight and then 1 hour or so drive in a hire car to Athlone.
No contest!!
Anyway, we’re going over as there are things to do around the house for mother-in-law and we will be driving down to Cork on the way back to see father-in-law as he’s in a nursing home near there, so it’s not a holiday as such.
That said, we are treating ourselves to one night in a nice hotel in Cork on the last night, though - it has a swimming pool, spa, sauna etc. and most importantly - A BAR!!! [emoji4]
