My wife has given me this for my birthday (it belonged to either her grandfather or great great grandfather).
Now need to find a good watchmaker /repairer and key :)

looks good..
Cheers Struth,
I really hope that i can get it sorted.
This was my everyday watch until recently - I thought battery needed replacement, but apparently it needs movement looking at which will cost almost as much as the watch cost

Currently using this, a “freebie” with EagleMoss publication - lasted longer than the Tissot

both nice. i wouldnt repair tissot unless its dear to you.
The Tissot was a previous birthday present from wife, so it has some sentimental value but i have no intention of throwing good money after bad - mechanical watches for me from now on.
The Tissot replaced a Le Cheminant wind up which i have mislaid. I spent most of yesterday looking for the Le Cheminant to no avail. I am sure it is in the house somewhere and will turn up when least expected.
Your Tissot is a handsome looking watch. I would at least get a quote for its repair.
Thanks Barry I do love it: it’s just that repair quote from local dealer where watch was bought (involved sending it back to Tissot) was over £250 - had better quote from fixmywatch but some reviews were rather worrying.
I can’t just junk it, I would be willing to spend about £100 but any more seems silly - will keep on looking.
Just took in pocket watch for asssessment of service cost, so will see how that goes (and carry on looking for my Le Cheminant :))
EDIT - thanks again @Barry, just checked on Tissot and they offer full diagnostic/repair starting at £105 so hopefully it will be worthwhile after all. Seems my local dealer may be a little greedy.
Good news Guy. :)
tidy.. dont see black divers so often..
Looks good roy
Cheers Grant. Still got your collection?
Just put this on, nor going anywhere but got to maintain standards.

like the watch, but not too keen on strap.
happy birthday
Happy birthday Roy! :birthday: Agree with Grant about the strap - you could easily find it in the dark, though I don't know why you'd want to ;)
Happy Birthday Roy!
Sorry, this watch is only a little better looking. The dial looks 'radioactive' similar to the luminous watches of the last century, though it does in some way match the plastic strap.
If you want to wear a diver's watch, wear one of your Rolex watches - it's your birthday after all. :)
Any recommendations for a cheap, but good automatic watch winder?
Summer colours

Very colourful , but not something I would buy
Not me! ;)
Not bad. What do you call watches that do not have the name of the manufacturer on the watch face?
Think I would prefer the second hand to be straight; though you could always pretend the watch was a Rolex 'Milgauss'.
Happy bunny - watch back from Tissot today, about £120 for repair (also came with new face, hands, expanding strap bars).
Surprised how much I had missed it and how good it feels to have it back on :)

Very much to my taste. A handsome looking timepiece that does all you need from a watch. :)
Cheers Barry, very kind
