The Tissot was a previous birthday present from wife, so it has some sentimental value but i have no intention of throwing good money after bad - mechanical watches for me from now on.
The Tissot replaced a Le Cheminant wind up which i have mislaid. I spent most of yesterday looking for the Le Cheminant to no avail. I am sure it is in the house somewhere and will turn up when least expected.
Your Tissot is a handsome looking watch. I would at least get a quote for its repair.

EDIT - thanks again @Barry, just checked on Tissot and they offer full diagnostic/repair starting at £105 so hopefully it will be worthwhile after all. Seems my local dealer may be a little greedy. :doh:

Don’t have much experience of winders other than the one I got as a gift, it’s a ‘Dulwich’ with 3 slots and seems to do its job well enough. I hear good things about’Wolf’ winders to but don’t think they come cheap.Quote:

Happy bunny - watch back from Tissot today, about £120 for repair (also came with new face, hands, expanding strap bars).
Surprised how much I had missed it and how good it feels to have it back on :)
