Our week of kitchenless dining continues, with a trip to a local pub for our tea (as it got good reviews online).
I had steak and ale pie with skin-on fries and garden peas. Skin-on fries is just a fancy way of saying they sacked the potato peeler. The peas came in a pot the size of a Kinder egg. And I don't care what anyone thinks, but a pot of gravy with a few bits of steak and a pastry lid is not a pie! As for the chunks of steak: honestly, if I threw one at your head it would bloody hurt. 14 quid!
I can't even pronounce what Anita had, but she seemed to like it. She even gave me her chips as she could see I had a right face on me. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh, but the shape of the girl who brought the food suggests she may be 'skimming' on the way from the kitchen.
Still, tomorrow and Monday will be Chinese as is our tradition, Tuesday Domino's, after that who knows. First World problems eh.
Not looking good for Liz Truss after last night's fracking vote fracas and all the other shambles. Now she's meeting with the chair of the 1922 Committee and presumably her future is being discussed. A BBC political correspondent made me laugh earlier by describing her as "holed below the waterline". Could be Hunt will become caretaker PM.

Going off in a garden backing on to ours. Not much to look at, just a lot of very loud bangs. The cat's out there somewhere, and isn't for coming in, not even for her Dreamies. There is no need for fireworks to be on general sale, should be organised displays ONLY. On bonfire night. So I don't need to keep the cat in from October till the New Year.
In the meantime I'd like to see our next-street neighbour being made to stand open-legged over one of those fireworks. That would make his eyes light up. I'd pay good money to go to that display.
