The idea does have some merit, but that word "mandatory" has to go - no one would get behind that. In any case, trust issues between Joe Public and the govt would always be a stumbling block.

Better perhaps would the provision of a multivitamin for primary school kids, like they used to do with milk. Free of charge, and also parents could choose to opt out.

Older kids and adults can fend for themselves, but hopefully young kids will stick with it as it has become a normal routine.

Yes, it was the word "mandatory" I objected to.

Childhood jabs for polio, diptheria, rubella, smallpox, TB, whooping cough etc. make perfect sense; though I think they should be highly recommended rather than mandatory.

Off into town later to Richer Sounds to buy an a/v amp. Mrs. P is missing the old, long-dead one. She wants it primarily I think, for the new Game of Thrones spin off "House of The Dragon" - she wants to hear the dragons flying round her head.

It would be cheaper for me to stand behind her making roaring noises, but no that's not good enough. High maintenance or what?

Just been down Sainsburys do some shopping and draw some cash out but ofc their cashpoint isn't working. On a Saturday too which you have to think is when most people will need to use it.

Not an isolated incident either. The bloody thing is out of order more often than Piers Morgan. Now I've only got about eight quid in cash so I'll have to make a second trip out just for that. Useless wankers.

need to get cash out too.. its the grandsons 15th on tuesday. last time i tried it was like macca..empty. trying to wean us off cash i think.

Our local post office shut several months ago and hasn't re-opened. Now have to use the one in the 'University Quarter' which is tiny and the queue is out the door most of the day because of Pox E Student taking up the staff's time with some pointless nonsense.

Can't be doing with buying stuff with my card, I like to have cash in my pocket. It's reassuring.

Grant, it looks like you're spot on with your diagnosis. I went to see the doc on Friday, who also spoke about this valve, told me to stop eating close to bedtime, cut down on fatty foods, avoid alcohol (I can do that), cut down on coffee (can't do that) and prescribed a 28 day course of a 'proton pump inhibitor' (PPI) called Omeprazole.

Now the whole of my stomach feels tender, but apparently this is a common side effect which should go away for a few days.

good news steve. im on omeprazole for life lol.. oddly mine played up last night so had to take liquid.. must have been the whisky:eek:
